Referendum 2024: Addressing Aging Buildings
The West Bend School District has developed its referendum proposal to address aging buildings and declining enrollment. While these are challenges, they also present opportunities to improve the educational environments, establish schools with more secure entrances and additional safety features, more efficiently use resources, and reduce long-term operating costs. Tickets on Sale for Holiday Pops Concert
Get your tickets for the COLUMNS Holiday Pops Concert by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra taking place on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. This special event is held at our own Silver Lining Arts Center at the high schools building. Tickets are $30 each and available at Jeff’s Spirits on Main, Horicon Bank, and Sendik’s or by calling Horicon Bank at 262-808-2670 or Pick Heaters at 262-338-1191.
Important Upcoming Dates
Friday, November 1 is the end of the first quarter of the 2024-2025 school year.
Daylight savings time is on Sunday, November 3 at 2 a.m. Remember to turn back your clocks one hour.
All schools are closed on November 27, 28, and 29 for Thanksgiving.

Connection is the Key
The West Bend School District Update will periodically include tips and tactics for strengthening mental health. With busy schedules, it can sometimes feel challenging to find time for intentional connection. However, even small moments of one-on-one or family time can make a big difference because these connections strengthen children’s ability to manage emotions and behaviors, helping them thrive. Here are a few easy ways to build connection:
Student and Staff Achievements
Hackman to Run at State
For the third straight year, Ethan Hackman of the West Boys Cross Country team qualified as an individual for the WIAA State Championships. Ethan will run on Saturday, November 2 at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
Two West Teams are Regional Champs
Two West High School teams are WIAA Regional Champions. The West Boys Soccer team beat Pulaski High School last weekend 1-0. The team takes on Cedarburg on Thursday, October 31 at 7 p.m. at Cedarburg High School.
The West Volleyball team beat Manitowoc Lincoln to win its WIAA Regional last weekend. The Spartans will take on Menomonee Falls at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 31 at Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
