EBC Family,I missed being with you this past Sunday. We went to Texas for the weekend for my parent’s 50th anniversary and attended church with them. They belong to a small Baptist church in the country. I didn’t know half of the songs they sang and they had several practices that I am unaccustomed to, but I rejoiced in the fact that Jesus was preached and those people love him. It reminded me that while we all have personal preferences about what we like in a worship service, we can still worship Jesus and celebrate being together with God’s people even when our expectations aren’t met.
Now that our Brazil mission team is safely home, I expect that we will hear from them in the next week or two about what they experienced and how God worked among them. Thank you for praying for them the past couple of weeks! Pray for our 6 students (Alli, Alicyn, Brayden, Rhett, Braelyn, and Ty) and 2 sponsors (Nathaniel and Carey) leaving for Super Summer next week. I’ve attended Super Summer the past 2 years and seen first hand how God uses this week to challenge our students to be leaders. Pray that God will work in these student’s lives that they might become leaders for Christ both in our church as well as in their schools.
This coming Sunday we’ll start our Summer Sunday Nights plan. I hope you’ll be here for it!
