Moorhead Junior High Cafeteria
We would like to make you aware of an opportunity available to your son/daughter this summer. All seventh & eighth grade Moorhead Junior High students are invited to participate in the School Tours of America Washington DC/Boston trip this upcoming summer. Students will visit many of the places they study about in eighth grade U.S. History. The trip is from May 26th to May 30th of 2024. Students will fly into Washington, DC and visit all memorials, Ford’s Theatre, Spy Museum, National Achieves, Smithsonian’s, Capitol Hill, and Arlington National Cemetery. They will then travel to Boston, Massachusetts where they will see the U.S.S. Constitution, Bunker Hill, site of the Boston Massacre and Tea Party, Lexington & Concord and Plymouth rock and so much more.
The cost of the trip is all inclusive, covering everything except souvenirs. Parents may make payments in installments and there are multiple scholarships that are also available for students who qualify due to a financial need. There is only a $99 deposit required by December 15th to hold your child’s spot.
I would love to meet you and have you come and find out more about the trip at our parent meeting on November 2nd and I hope that many students are able to enjoy this unique experience. For further information, please email: dasmith@conroeisd.net

Picture retakes are for newly enrolled students, those who were absent on the original picture day, and students whose parents PAID for pictures and were not happy with them.
Help us report pages
Parents,
Thank you for letting us know about various indecorous Instagram pages that some students create. Kids across the country have been creating inappropriate social media pages since the dawn of social media. Some pages are harmless while others are hurtful. There are ways to get these pages removed.
- The creator to deletes the page.
- We spend weeks tracking down page creator and ask the parent and student who created the page to delete it.
- Instagram receives enough complaints that they remove the page. This is where you come in. Anytime you discover an inappropriate Instagram, YouTube or other social media page you can help by reporting it to the company.
- Chose not to let your child have access to social media apps like Instagram, Snap Chat, Tik Tok, Discord, Telegram, and others because children in junior high and even high school may not be mature enough to use these apps responsibly.
Thank you for your help.

Anonymous Alerts
Conroe ISD will continue implementation of the Anonymous Alerts – anti bullying app. Anonymous Alerts is a patented student anti-bullying app that helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to come forward to help themselves and other students. Social and peer pressures are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome, now they can report bullying and safety issues quickly using Anonymous Alerts mobile app.
Students or parents in the school community can anonymously submit alerts about suspicious activity, safety threats, bullying, alcohol or drug use, harassment, family issues, school shooter, campus safety concerns, and self-harm issues to school administrators or counselors. The app is free from the Apple Store, Google Play store, and the Chrome store. Students will still have the option to call Kid Chat to report anything at 1-888-kid-chat.
