Science
Second graders learned about flooding in science this last week with Mrs. Hasselfeldt. They got very hands-on with their experiment to determine how to best slow down or prevent damage from a flood. They had a lot of fun getting a little messy, all while learning a lot. We sure love science in second grade!
Earth Day
Mrs. Hasselfeldt's class enjoyed reading about Earth Day out in the beautiful sunshine this week.
Earth Day
Mrs. Anderson’s 4th graders have been investigating plant growth factors in science. They enjoyed getting outside and picking up garbage for Earth Day.
Earth Day
The Transitional Kindergarten class has taken advantage of the sunshine to help clean up the playground for Earth Week. Even though they are little and the playground is big, their determination and hard work was bigger!
Earth Day
Mrs. Mantel's class took their learning outside for Earth Day on Monday!
Congratulations!

Summer EBT Program
Mora Schools will be participating in the new Summer EBT (S-EBT) program, which will help reduce child hunger by providing benefits to families with eligible school-age children for groceries throughout the summer.
Beginning this summer, the state of MN will provide grocery benefits to help families with eligible school-age children buy groceries during the summer. Learn more about this new program: http://www.fns.usda.gov/sebt/household.
Families who have received an approval letter or notice this past fall for income-eligible students (direct certified or categorically eligible) in school year 2023-2024 for free or reduced price (FRP) school meals are automatically eligible for S-EBT and no further action is needed.
Families who have not received an approval letter or notice in school year 2023-2024 may complete an Application for Educational Benefits if they suspect they qualify. The school will verify eligibility and contact households with an approval or denial letter.
Applications for Educational Benefits my be found on our webpage at: https://www.moraschools.org/page/nutritiondepartment.

It’s that time of year still! Here at the Mora Public Schools, we are still seeing tons of common school-age illnesses. So parents, please be mindful when sending your student to school. Always try to make sure they are feeling their best, so they can be present and ready to learn for the day. Most of the school-age illnesses are harmless, but they can still spread like rapid fire. Some of those common illnesses seen include: common cold, stomach flu, strep throat, pink eye and influenza, just to name a few. We do have covid tests in the health office if needed. We do ask that you keep your student home for at least 24 hours for any illnesses that include fever over 100.0, vomiting and diarrhea. If you ever have any questions, or are wanting any more information please feel free to reach out to the health office staff. The best way to prevent illnesses from spreading is by washing your hands!!
Thank you so much for all you do and helping to keep our students happy and healthy!
