In an ever-changing world we often face challenges or obstacles. Dealing with these, working through these, or overcoming these challenges can often times lead to stress. I find that I often struggle with trying to find that silver lining. It's there and my heart knows it, but my brain takes a while to catch up.
I want to encourage our students to start looking at these "challenges" as opportunities. Opportunities to grow and learn and know that it's okay to fail. It's okay to miss a problem or make a mistake - this is how we learn and get better. I see so many of our staff pouring their heart and soul into your students and into their work and it makes me beam with pride. Our students are worth this extra work and we want them to know they can do anything they set their mind to.
Here are some points to share with your student:
- Challenges are going to come our way. Find someone to rely on and lean on when you need help.
- Face the challenge with the attitude that something better is coming.
- Learn from mistakes and you will grow in knowledge and wisdom.
- Take care of yourself, find an outlet and find time for yourself.
It's all in how we look at things - perspective. Every adventure begins with a challenge and ends with a blessing, if we wait.
