From Heritage to Home...Let's Stay Connected!
May 26, 2025
HMS Families,
As we close another successful school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared—and to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and partnership.
This year, our theme of #OurHouse has truly come to life. It has been more than just a motto; it’s been the foundation that’s kept us connected and grounded through every challenge. Whether it was navigating the loss our beloved staff member, Coach Saree Morley, adapting to ongoing construction in our buildilng, or adjusting to many missed days due to weather, we remained united. Our sense of community—our “house”—helped us support one another, celebrate together, and stay true to the connections that make HMS so special.
Your involvement, whether through volunteering, attending events, or communicating openly with us, has been invaluable. I am deeply grateful for your trust, your understanding, and your commitment to your child’s education. The partnership between home and school is essential, and your dedication has inspired us every step of the way. As we look ahead, we are excited to continue building on the strong foundation we’ve created together. With your ongoing support, we know our Eagles will continue to soar to new heights.
We wish you and your families a joyful, restful summer filled with laughter and memories. Thank you for making HMS truly feel like #OurHouse.
With deepest gratitude,
Dr. Allegri
Yearbook Lottery *8th grade only*
If your child did not get a yearbook ordered in time and would like to have their name in the lottery drawing, please ensure they bring money on Monday. We did order a few extra and if your child's name gets called, they must have cash on hand to pay to receive it.
11:50 Dismissal Wednesday
As a reminder, we dismiss at 11:50 on Wednesday and we do not serve lunch to students that day.
8th Grade Final Lap *weather pending*
We’ll be closely monitoring the weather tomorrow. If it’s raining, we will unfortunately need to cancel the final lap. Please keep an eye on your email—I’ll communicate any changes as soon as possible, though the decision may come close to 1:00 if the weather is unpredictable. Thank you for your understanding that due to our early dismissal the following day and a full schedule of talent shows, we will not be able to reschedule the final lap. We appreciate your flexibility!
Lost And Found
All items remaining in the lost and found after Wednesday will be donated to Goodwill. Please remind your child to check the lost and found to make sure none of their belongings are there. Don’t forget to have them look through our ever-growing collection of lost water bottles as well!
Mark Your Calendars for May 27th!
- 8th Grade Locker Clean out
- 8th Grade Freshman Day @ Liberty North - will return around 1:15
- 8th Grade Celebration Walk w/ Parents on Track & Yearbook Signing
- When our 8th graders return to HMS from North, we are going to hold our 8th Grade "Final Lap." We are so excited about this!!! We invite all our 8th grade parents to the HMS Track to line it beginning at 1:00. There is no parking along the bus loop at all, but parents can park in any available parking spots on the west side (track and field side) and anywhere else on campus that parking is available. (Carpooling is ideal as space is limited).
- In order to ensure students leave safely from the building, we will not be checking students out prior to dismissal. Students must stay on campus until we dismiss for the day. 8th graders will unload the buses once they return from North and immediately walk to the track. Music will be playing and parents can take video/pictures of their child doing one final lap at HMS. After the final lap, students will then be able to pick up yearbooks at tables (if they purchased one) which will be set up outside by the track on the east side.
- Parents can stay until 2:00, but then we ask all parents to exit campus so we can get ready for bus arrival and dismissal.

Returning Student Registration Now Open
As we shared last month, we are excited to be able to once again open the Returning Student Registration window much earlier this year. In fact, the Returning Student Registration portal for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! If your student is currently enrolled in Liberty Public Schools, you need to complete the Returning Student Registration for your student.
Families will need to log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal to complete the registration. You will be able to connect to your Parent Portal through the LPS website, which can also be accessed by clicking here (please note that the app does not provide the direct link). You may also navigate to the PowerSchool Parent Portal at LPS53.org>Menu>Resources>PowerSchool When logging onto your PowerSchool Parent Portal account, simply select the Returning Student Registration tab in the left column.
Finally, if you have a kindergarten (transitioning from ECC to KDG), 6th, or 9th grade student, you will be required to verify residency for the 2025-2026 school year. You will be able to upload your residency verification items within the Returning Student Registration (ex: utility bills, lease agreement, etc.). For additional information regarding required documentation click here.
We ask that each student registration be completed by August 1, 2025. We hope that many of our families take advantage of this earlier registration window opportunity and can complete this prior to your busy summer schedules that are likely to occur.
If you have any additional questions regarding this process, don't hesitate reaching out to either your child's home school or LPS Student Services.
