The ASVAB results provide our students with the opportunity to explore a variety of career pathways and options best suited for them. These pathways include careers that require a post-secondary degree, work-based learning opportunities, skilled trade careers and the military.

There will also be a Tech Center Open House on Thursday, December 12th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm for both students and parents. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Career and Technical Education Programs available to our students in their junior & senior year.

The Madison High School Debate Team had a great showing in the county debate tournament this year. As a new team, they made it to the novice division semi-final match losing an incredibly close and strong match. The judge shared just how good it was and how close the result. We're very proud of this group! Brooks Horwath earned one of the Top Speaker Awards for the season. Congratulations to him and the whole team. Next fall is a new topic and new season!

Latino Student Union Candy Gram Fundraiser
There is a new club here at Madison High School! The Latino Student Union was created with the hope of celebrating and sharing the Latino culture with the high school student body and greater Madison School community. Madison has a wonderfully diverse student population and we believe that diversity is something to be celebrated. Regardless of who you are or where you're from, we believe we're better together!
Christmas traditions vary all over the world, but in Spanish speaking countries, Christmas is often a twelve day affair that culminates on the 6th of January. Historically, while we've been waiting for Santa here in the U.S., children in Spanish speaking countries wait for the Magi -- and that means no presents until January 6th! Because children are expecting gifts from the Three Kings, and not Saint Nick, they will often leave grass and water out for the camels, much like we may leave carrots out for Santa's reindeer.
One particularly fun tradition takes place in Spain. Called "Noche de Reyes," on January 5th young children will leave their shoes by the door for the Three Wise Men to fill. When they wake up the morning of the 6th, they find their shoes are filled to the brim with goodies.
It just so happens, we return from Winter Break on January 6th, and the Latino Student Union thought it would be fun to share this holiday tradition with the Madison School Community. You can buy a candy gram "shoe" filled with treats for your favorite Madison student. These shoes will be waiting for them when they return from Winter break! Include a message if you'd like!
They are only $2.00 and are available through MySchoolBucks.
