Pony Express ~Parent Edition~
MARCH
Parent Edition --- MARCH
Hello MacArthur Parents!
We hope that you enjoyed your break and made many memories with your beautiful families. We are excited to see all of our scholars back on Monday, March 18th. We are ready to hit the floor running and finish the last 12 weeks of the 23-24 school year. We have done so much this year that it is only fitting that we close out the school year with great effort, enthusiasm, consistency and commitment.
Intersession was a huge success with close to 200 students attending everyday. Thank you for your commitment for growth. As a campus we truly understand the power of partnership and want to emphasize how important communication and collaboration is in the best interest of our students. As we embark into the last quarter of the school year, there are some very important reminders we want to share with our community:
1. Students return to school on Monday, March 18th;
2. Spring Picture Day is Monday, March 18th. Students may wear Sunday best;
3. Continuation of TELPAS assessment March 20th & 21st.
4. We have 16 instructional days before our STAAR Reading exam(s), 20 instructional days before our STAAR Science exam, 22 days before our STAAR Social Studies exam, and 25 days before our STAAR Math exam(s);
5. Let's continue to make every effort to help students arrive on time and help maximize the instructional day.
We can't wait to see our Ponies on Monday.
Student Success:
Let's move the academic needle upward with a continued commitment for growth.
Thank you for your ongoing support!

Spring Pictures - Monday, March 18th - Sunday Best
6th - 8th TELPAS Assessment March 20th & 21st
TELPAS state assessments for Emergent Bilinguals continues this week. These are very important dates and we know all of our students are well prepared. The following grade levels will test on the following dates:
6th - 8th Grade Level TELPAS Assessment Dates
Reading & Writing - Wednesday, March 20th
Listening & Speaking, Thursday, March 21st
At school we will make every effort to create a relaxed and comfortable testing environment. We are depending on your help at home with the following:
· Please make every effort to not schedule doctor or dentist appointments on the dates listed above
· Please do not take your child out early - TELPAS is an untimed test and students have until end of day to complete
· Make sure your child gets sufficient sleep the night prior to testing
· Get your child to school on time; it’s good practice to get up just a bit earlier so things are done in a relaxed manner
Unfortunately, we are still experiencing an increase in tardies every morning. We understand that mornings can be challenging and often compromised by many circumstances, however, please note that repeated tardies not only interfere with instructional time, they also build the wrong habits that negatively impact our campus and community. Thank you for your support with making every effort to get to school on time.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
