Thinking ahead to 2024-2025
What a great time I've had at Tremont this year! I can't believe the school year is already coming to an end. I want to thank you all for the warm welcome. As we look toward the future, I want to continue to partner with you to make Tremont even better than it is today! One of my favorite quotes to live by is "Better today than yesterday and better tomorrow than today".
One goal I have that I could use your help with is to provide me feedback on the arrival procedures here at Tremont. I have noticed that we have a very long line of cars each morning and I'm wondering what ideas you might have to make our morning drop off more efficient. As you know, school starts at 8:15am. My goal is for children to be in their classrooms and ready to start Morning Meeting promptly at 8:15. If you have ideas, I'd love to hear from you!

2024-2025 Transportation Information Form
The 2024-2025 Transportation Information Form is now available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. All families of students entering first through eighth grade this fall will need to complete this form to share how their student will be getting to and from school and to request school transportation, if needed and eligible, for the upcoming school year. You can access the 2024-2025 Transportation Information Form in the PowerSchool Parent Portal by clicking on the Forms icon in the left navigation bar and then scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking on the Transportation form.
Your student’s Transportation Information Form will be available in PowerSchool through Friday, May 24.
Penny Wars
Put your spare change towards a good cause. All coins can be collected. All proceeds from our penny war fundraiser will support The Dempsey Center at Riverside. Jars will be collected from classrooms at the end of the day on May 10th. All of the coins will be counted and the classroom with the most will win a popsicle party. If we raise over $500, Ms. Kroger will get a pie in the face. The winner will be announced at The Mane Event on May 17th.
A Note From our Media Center
As summer draws nearer, here are a couple of important dates related to school library books:
Friday, May 17th--Last day to borrow school library books
Monday, May 20th--All books due back to the Tremont Library Media Center
Your child’s current circulation record can be found in the “Follett Destiny Tremont SSO” app in Classlink. A reminder tutorial for logging in will air several times on Good Morning Tremont over the coming week.
If your child is unable to locate their library books and you would like to replace the title, we will gladly accept replacement copies or a check made out to UA Schools. Any questions may be directed to our media specialist, Kristin Bugnitz, at kbugnitz@uaschools.org. Thank you for sharing your readers with us this school year!
Looking for Helpers for the Tremont Garden
Are you looking for a family friendly way to help your community this summer? We would love to have you help care for the Tremont Learning Garden! The garden is located on the back playground of Tremont, and includes 5 raised beds and 3 in-ground beds, as well as two raised flower beds on the Ridgeview side of the building. We would love to have at least 2-3 families signed up for each week of the summer to water, as well as any other small jobs depending on what the plants need. Jill Prout will offer two group "training sessions" the first week in June and is happy to meet volunteers at the garden to help them get started. Thank you for helping us take care of the garden! Use this link to share your information and we will be in touch! See you in the garden!

Student iPad Distribution Information
Each student will return their old iPad and receive a new 10th-generation iPad as the 2024-25 school year begins. These new devices are equipped with a ruggedized case featuring an attached keyboard and trackpad plus increased storage, processor speed, and a USB-C charging cable and power adapter.
Elementary Students:
Elementary Student devices will be automatically configured and ready for use when they are delivered to classrooms prior to the first day of school.
Middle and High School Students:
All Middle and High School students will need to pick up their device over the summer during the weeks of July 29th and August 5th. Families will need to reserve a time slot during those dates prior to picking up their student’s device when the full schedule is announced.
Device pickups will happen at Upper Arlington High School, on the south end of Golden Bear Boulevard. Families can park in the lot on Brandon Road, and enter through the main doors. In order to receive your new iPad, you must turn-in your current device. Please be sure to back up anything you need on your current iPad as your device must be erased before it will be accepted. Be sure to enable iCloud sync within Notability prior to wiping your device or your notes will be irrevocably lost. Students may opt to take their devices home to activate them, otherwise support staff will be available to assist.
For students that cannot pick up their devices during these 2 weeks, we will have iPads available for pickup in each building’s tech office after the start of school.
Stay tuned for additional details in future updates.
New iPad and Wired Headphone Compatibility Information
The new iPads no longer feature a traditional headphone jack. At this point in time we are recommending families purchase USB-C Headphones for use with the new iPads.
