Little Vikings

Sometimes things take us awhile but we always get there! We have finished our science journals for our Ocean Life unit and our mural! I am still working on getting us to the zoo to check out the aquarium and cool touch tanks so let me know if you have had your safe environments training and would be willing to come with us!

Next week we will begin in a school wide curriculum for science called Project Lead the Way. The Pre-k specific curriculum won't be available until the 2018 -2019 school year but I took the training and am going to teach one module with the rest of the school as a kick-off. We are going to learn about form and function and the engineer design process. The students will listen to stories about designs and then attempt to reconstruct them! It is going to be a lot of fun and we are excited to be a part of it.

We are also being visited by an engineer team, Mr. and Mrs. Kellogg. They bring different building manipulatives with them and break the students into design teams, the students build and show off creations they have made to solve problems they have! For example we had a team build a cotton candy making car because they were hungry!

My apologies if your student ended up with a folder other than the one you purchased. I didn't think to have you label them and then realized how necessary it was! Please chack and take out your child's work and correspondence when the folders come home. We are having a hard time deciphering if info has been received/read because it is still in the folders. Likewise we will check folders and take out correspondence you send us. Thank you!

We do our best to make up work with your student when they are absent but it isn't always possible. If we are unable we will send it home for your student to do. This is just for enhancement and doesn't need to be returned.

* We are always thirsty! Please send a water bottle to school each day.

*Please return any library books you may still have at home, we get sad when we can't get a new book!

*Picture day is Wednesday, October 11th, we wear full dress uniform!

*No school Friday October 13th, teachers have an inservice.
