Message from Mrs. Shostachuk
Dear Central Road Families,
It has been amazing having students and staff back at school this past week. I think we all experienced every emotion leading up to and starting up the 24-25 school year. We are off to an amazing start. Thank you for trusting your children with us. The smiles, giggles, and excitement about being back at school is contagious. We are looking forward to a great 2024-2025 year! WE ARE...CR!
The week of September 9th will be our first full week of teaching and learning. We will continue settling into routines while starting all content level learning-math, reading, writing, science and social studies. Thank you for taking time to read our communication. If you have any questions or concerns related to the information shared, please feel free to reach out at any time. We too thank you all in advance for your flexibility, patience, and partnership. Our door(s) continue to always be open to listen and work together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, September 9th. Please enjoy your weekend.

Morning Drop Off and Dismissal Procedures
Overall, arrival and dismissal has been going well. Thank you for your support in making this running smoothly, safely, and effectively. When entering our school parking lot, cars should remain to the left while school busses remain on the right hand side. The entrance of our parking should remain open and never blocked by cars. Parents who drop off or pick up students should form a single file line with their vehicle. Cars should line up down Central Road so that parents may turn right into the lot. Please have your child exit the vehicle on the passenger side and then he/she will walk down to the staff member/crossing guard. Parents are to remain in their vehicles; please do NOT get out in our car line. Cars are not able to pass each other in the car line. Students who are dropped off will enter in Door 4.
All students who cross Central Road should cross with our crossing guard, Ms. Kathy. At no time should anyone be crossing in the middle of Central Road. She will be at the SW corner of Brookmeade Drive and Central Road directly across from the school. If you so choose, pull around onto Brookmeade Drive and drop your children with Ms. Kathy and she will see them safely across to school. If you would like to walk up to school with your child, please park your car on the street and feel free to walk your child to Door 4. Parents/guardians are not able to walk students to class (inside our building). Parking in our school parking lot during arrival/dismissal should be avoided.
We have 9 school buses this year. Students who ride the bus will be greeted by staff as well. Students who ride the bus will enter at Door 1. For dismissal, students will be dismissed at the bell. Monday to Thursday dismissal is at 3:55pm. On Fridays, we dismiss at 3:05 pm. Staff will ensure that students either get on their proper bus or are waiting outside near our car pick up line. Parents too are able to wait outside near Door 4 during dismissal time. Please park on the street if walking up to pick up your child. Again, parking in our school parking lot during arrival/dismissal should be avoided.
The first few weeks require patience and understanding as everyone learns our procedures. We ask that everyone exercises safety while following our arrival and dismissal expectations. In due time, it always falls into place. Thank You
