Sweet to Elite!
The Huskies are heading to the Elite 8! Coach Tonya Hunter's team rallied from an early deficit on Friday night to defeat Sparkman 49-42 on the road. Hewitt-Trussville will face Vestavia Hills Wednesday at 9am at Jacksonville State University with a Final Four berth on the line.

Hooks and Audre Benson hit back-to-back three point shots early in the third quarter to give the Huskies their first lead. Benson would connect on two more shots from behind the arc in the third quarter as the Huskies raced to a 39-28 lead. Sparkman would close the gap to six points in the final quarter, but Amiya Payne iced the game with free throws.
Payne scored 11 points in the second half and had 16 points total. Audre Benson scored 11 points. April Hooks was also in double figures with 11 points.
