This year went by so fast! It's hard to believe we are done.

For some of you, it was the end of your first year of middle school.

For others, you are ending years of having children with us.

No matter where you are on the continuum,

we are so grateful you entrusted your child to us this year.

We will miss our 8th graders,

look forward to our students who are returning,

and eagerly await our new 6th grade class.

On Tuesday, May 28th we celebrated the accomplishments of the 8th grade
with a beautiful promotion ceremony.

Congratulations to our 223 graduates who will head to high school next year. We will miss you!

Thursday, students participated in Move Up Day activities,
where they got to meet next years teachers and
learn about what the next grade level will be like.

This also included the incoming 6th grade students
(current 5th graders) from Central, Cumberland, North, and Terrace!

Friday, students participated in our annual Field Day.

The competition was fierce and students had a lot of fun playing

a variety of indoor and outdoor games.

A good time was had by all!

2. Get a physical (mandatory for all incoming 6th grade and new to D62 students)
   *If trying out for Girls Basketball, be sure to have a update sports physical over the summer*
   
   
3. Read your Summer Reading Book - The Fort by Gordon Korman
   *EVERY child received a copy of the book this week*

Our Girl's Basketball Season will start right away!! All 7th and 8th grade girls looking to play for the Chippewa basketball team, tryouts will be on Wednesday, August 21st and Thursday, August 22nd from 3:00-5:00pm.

Students must have a current physical and the Agreement to Participate form in order to try out. The season will consist of regularly scheduled practices and playing games against schools in D62, D59, and D64.
