Our August In Review

Back to School time is a hectic period for all.

WLRC hosted our Second Annual Back To School Backpack Giveaway on August 10, 2022. The White Lightning team gave out an astounding Five Hundred Backpacks, overflowing with supplies.

The business of giving away School Supplies was met with Fun and games, a bounce house, and trivia. We also had many guest organizations supplying different resources and goodies at their tables. The Dallas Public Library joined us for the second year in a row and

Buffalo Wild Wings Sponsors came out with goodie bags and gift cards.

On October 27, 2022, The White Lightning Resource Center partnered with The Youth Program at the Mattie-Nash Recreation Center to host a Halloween Bash.

The People for WLRC

A group of University of North Texas students, nicknamed 'The People', created a GoFundMe Campaign to raise money for the White Lightning Resource Center and also came to volunteer at the Halloween Bash.

Tis' The Season of Giving

WLRC is doing all it can to give back to others this Holiday Season.

Starting this weekend, December 3rd, White Lightning Volunteers are braving the varying temperatures to hand out small care packages to the less fortunate. These parcels include Snacks, Hats, Gloves, Socks, etc.

Toys For Tots

Toys For Tots is back and partnered with WLRC to spread Holiday Cheer. We had so many of you sign up for the TFT drive and we are excited to provide your presents to you. Be sure to join us On Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the toy drive. Those who are approved will receive an email and text message notification about the time and location to pick up their presents. Wrapped Up In Giving

WLRC Volunteers are going to be wrapping gifts for some very special kiddos! In the process of adopting a school, the Resource Center has partnered with an amazingly dedicated teacher who wants to do everything she can to help her students learn in the best ways possible.

WLRC believes in shaping the minds of our youth and setting them on their different paths toward success.
