Principal's Message
Dear Middle School Parents,
Spring break will start on Monday, March 25, 2024. We hope you all have a fantastic break and take this time to unwind and rejuvenate. Soon after our return from spring break, we will start our assessment season, which consists of the following schedule:
English Language Arts (7th & 8th)
April 10th and 11th, 2024
Science 8
April 17, 2024
Mathematics (7th & 8th)
April 23rd and 25th, 2024
We kindly request that you avoid scheduling appointments for your student on assessment days, if possible. For planning purposes, students should expect to be in a testing environment from 9:00 am until 12:30 on each of the assessment days.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Thank you,
Mr. Kevin L. Freeman, Principal
Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024
Please be aware that there is no school on Monday, April 8, 2024 (school calendar). Even though school is not in session during the Ohio total solar eclipse, we do have access to solar eclipse glasses for each student in case you want to supervise your child’s participation in viewing the eclipse. Each student will bring home one pair of glasses tomorrow, March 20, 2024 which they can keep. The glasses have the ISO transmission requirements printed on them for your review before deciding on their use.
Counselor's Corner
If you know your child will be absent on one of our state testing dates, please notify Margie Thompson at thompson.2@napls.us.
On Tuesday, April 30th, the entire 8th grade class will be taking a field trip to Eastland-Fairfield Career Center. More information about this field trip will be going out to families in the coming weeks.
Seussical Jr.
Based on the works of Dr. Seuss, The New Albany Middle School Theatre Department will perform Seussical JR., May 3-5, 2024 at the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts.
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR. This story of friendship, loyalty, and love, from Tony Award-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), is a musical extravaganza that is fun for the whole family.
Seussical JR. weaves a story of friendship, loyalty, and love. Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Whos, free Horton, and restore peace and unity to the Jungle of Nool. Seussical JR. teaches the power of being unique, and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.
Show times will be:
