Hooray! Week one of PSSA testing is complete! A big thank you to staff and students for a smooth first week of testing, with this being our first year of entirely on-line administration of the tests. We'll expect next week's Math and Science PSSA's to proceed just as well with students continuing to give it their best effort.
Wednesday we observed Administrative Professionals Day and celebrated the great work and contributions of our administrative staff. Thank You!
How nice it was of mother nature to treat us with great weather throughout our celebration of Earth Week, which included a lights out day, dress up days of animal prints, earth colors and something to represent our parks, zoos, oceans, or forests. Our spring sports teams are also happy about the improvement in the weather. đŸ™‚

For teacher appreciation week, May 5-9, the SCN is asking for some assistance from all of you for donations to assist with a few activities that week. Please check out the sign-up genius link to provide a donation.
- On Wednesday May 7th, Teacher Appreciation Day, we are having a teacher luncheon and will need any hot items or refrigerated items brought in that morning by 10:45 am. (Cold items can also be delivered Tuesday afternoon if that is easier.)
- We are asking that all other items are brought in by Friday May 2nd. We appreciate everything our teachers do and would like to celebrate them.

South’s Student Council is hosting a COLOR FUNdraising event! Our Event is a unique color Run/Jog/Dash/Walk around the back of the school, while staff gently toss colored powder (non-toxic, colored cornstarch) as participants pass by the designated color stations. This event will be a mile in length. Students will have the option to run or walk. This event will help raise funds for student activities at South Middle School. SOUTH STUDENTS in all grades are all invited to join the COLOR FUN RUN!

- Please remind students to charge their laptops every night.
- Please remind students of the importance of listening carefully to AM and PM announcements for up-to-the-minute information that might affect their school day schedule.

- Notification of absence, early dismissal, or late arrival will help us notify your child's teachers why the student is not in class. Thank you!
