Principal's Note
Dear Colonial Park Families -
We are so excited for 80s Spirit Day tomorrow in recognition of our 100th Day of School! Technically, Tuesday is now our 100th day, as a result of last week's snow day; however, we decided that changing our Spirit Day would cause unnecessary confusion, so we are celebrating tomorrow!
We are one week away from February vacation! Just a reminder, Wednesday, February 12, is an Early Release Day for our students in grades K-4. Our preschool students will have no school on Wednesday, February 12 and an Early Release Day on Thursday, February 13 for preschool conferences. All Stoneham Public Schools will be closed Monday, February 17 through Friday, February 21 for February vacation.
Valentine's Day is coming up on Friday, February 14, and many of our classrooms will participate in a Valentine exchange. Please do not attach food or candy to your child's valentines. Non-food items are definitely fine to provide; however, there is a district-wide policy regarding food being provided or shared with other children. Thank you in advance!
Parent Teacher Conferences for Term 2 will be held on Wednesday, March 5 from 4:00 to 7:00pm and Thursday, March 6 from 1:00 to 4:00pm, and report cards/progress reports will be sent home on Monday, March 3. Teachers will be sending a sign-up schedule for families on Monday, February 24, and parents and guardians will have the option of selecting a virtual or in-person conference.
There will be no Weekly News sent out next Sunday, and our next edition will be on Sunday, February 23. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and a fun, restful February vacation!

*Fun Run Shirts - On Friday, April 18, the Colonial Park PTO will host our annual Fun Run! Proceeds from this event will support field trips and classroom enrichment opportunities for our school. This event will be a school wide effort, with all students participating in the Fun Run. In addition to raising funds, we hope the Fun Run will be a great opportunity to encourage physical activity and working together towards a greater goal. More information, including volunteer opportunities, will be sent home to families as we get closer to the event! All students will participate in the Fun Run, and all CP students will receive (at no cost to you) a Fun Run T-shirt. Please fill out a separate form for each student. Mark what size shirt you would like for your student by the end of day Friday, February 14!

*Goldie’s Winter Pizza Chef Challenge- Our 5th Annual Pizza Challenge is back in partnership with Pizza Mia! Do you have the best pizza idea? We can't wait to read about your delicious pizza creation!
Fill out this form to enter your pizza creation into our contest! This form will be open until the end of the day, February 10. Voting will begin on February 12 and end on February 16. The winner will be announced on February 17, and will get their very own pizza made by Pizza Mia on February 24! The winner will receive a free pizza (their creation) courtesy of PTO.
*PTO Meeting - Our next PTO Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 11th. We will be raffling off Colonial Park gear again for those who attend in person!
