Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3| WEEK 5 | 16 AUGUST 2024
When I allow myself to succumb to storytelling, I sense connections to others that I seldom notice. My memories are specific to the sacred stories of my village, but these stories also resonate with others who have endured similar circumstances.…
There is a future because the stories are not locked up within our individual lives. Instead, they are held as precious elements of communal wisdom. Our stories do not need opportunities for neat resolution; they just need to be told over and over again ... heard and pondered before the dancing begins—and the dancing will begin again because when we lose hope and joy as individuals, the community digs deep into its shared resources and starts the beat yet again. They tap their feet and drum the promises of God.

Hi Everyone,
In honour of Book Week approaching, this above reflection on the telling of our own stories. I hope you like it.
Thank you for joining us at Mass for the Feast of the Assumption on Thursday. August 15 is a holy day of obligation. It was such a lovely liturgy!
Science Week this week - plenty of evidence in this newsletter! To our remarkable specialist teacher of Science Aine Walsh this has been the best Science Week! Aine only commenced at Holy Rosary this year and the difference she has made is marked. A great week indeed.
Next Week’s Book Week parade will be a circus. Holly Butson leads the charge, and what a leader!
Have a great weekend

✨ We had an absolute blast celebrating St. Dominic's Day earlier this term! From the reverence shown at Mass to the joy of running stalls and dancing the afternoon away at the disco, it was a day full of memories we won't forget. 🕊️🎉

Write a Book in a Day Competition
This year, select Holy Rosary students are taking part in the national Write a Book in a Day Competition. This is a fundraising event, where our students will spend 8 hours at school working together to produce a book, that will be shared with children around Australia who are living with cancer. All funds raised during this competition go to the Kids Cancer Project - https://writeabookinaday.com/

So much excitement is building in the library for Book Week next week!!
The theme this year is “Reading is Magic” and the library has been full of magic with more magical activities next week, culminating in our famous Book Week Parade on Friday. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend the parade and afterwards to view the beautiful art as well as our brand new library furniture! The library will be open after the parade has concluded until 10.30am if you would like to pop in.
Round 1 of the Junior Chess has been finalised and all winners will come back after Book Week for Round 2.
Library borrowing will continue through Book Week as usual, as will Book Club, SFG and F&F.
I can’t wait to see your marvellous creations on Friday!
