Welcome Days

Tussing Elementary will be hosting Welcome Days for the families of students entering first, second, third, and fourth grades as follows:


Tuesday, July 30: Last names A - K only ; 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, July 31: Last names L - Z only ; 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, August 1: All are welcome! 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.


Welcome Days are designed to support families in kicking off a successful year for our students. On their designated day, families will rotate through stations to check the fulfillment of the Pickerington Schools’ Back to School Steps.


Upon completion, families will receive their student’s homeroom teacher assignment!


If you are unable to attend Welcome Days, you will have the opportunity to receive your student’s homeroom teacher assignment during Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 14 (see below for further details).

Required Forms

Please update your Infinite Campus information and complete your OneView emergency medical form.


It is very important that all information (names, phone numbers, email addresses, communication preferences, etc.) is correct in both Infinite Campus and OneView.


This is how we will be able to communicate with you throughout the school year.

Required Fees

Grade-specific school fees may be paid online by logging into Infinite Campus.


The District and school offices also accept checks made payable to PLSD, credit cards, or exact cash amount, however, the preferred and most convenient method is to pay online.

Back to School Night

All are welcome at our Back to School Night Open House on Wednesday, August 14:


  • Last names A - K only; 5:00 - 5:50 p.m.
  • Last names L - Z only; 6:00 - 6:50 p.m.

The Open House will begin in the cafeteria where our principal, Mr. Dansby, will give an introduction. Students and parents will then go to their classrooms. Students must be accompanied by parents at all times please. You will also have the opportunity to explore the school, pay student fees, and drop off school supplies.


Following the Open House, Tussing's PTO invites you and your family to stop by various food trucks on your way out!

First Day of School

Grades 1 – 4: Thursday, August 15

  • 9:15 a.m. – 4:05 p.m.


Kindergarten: Wednesday, August 21

  • AM Kindergarten: 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
  • PM Kindergarten: 1:05 p.m. – 4:05 p.m.
