As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and involvement in our school community. It has been a journey filled with growth, achievements, and memorable experiences. Kudos to all visitors who participated in our career day last Friday. Special shout-out to Mrs. Branch and Ms. Fantroy for their planning efforts.

I also want to extend a sincere thank you to all the families who joined us for our spring concert and dance ensemble. It was a joyous celebration of the amazing talent we have here at Colin Powell Academy. The performances were truly spectacular, and it was wonderful to see our students shine on stage. I can't wait to see what incredible performances and achievements await us in the coming year.

As the weather warms and the excitement of summer approaches, I want to take a moment to remind both students and parents about the importance of being respectful and responsible members of our school community. Unfortunately, we have observed some instances of inappropriate behavior among our students; defacing school property such as throwing apples in the hall, leaving trash on the floor, writing on walls, and attempting to damage our walls.

I want to emphasize that such behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated at CPA. Our school building is not just a physical structure; it is a symbol of our pride and commitment to excellence. We owe it to ourselves, as well as to the individuals who built and maintain our school, to treat our environment with respect and care.

Parents, if you receive a call from one of our administrators regarding any such incidents involving your child, I kindly ask for your support in addressing the matter. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that your child takes responsibility for their actions and helps clean up any mess they may have made.

Together, we can uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and pride that define our school community. Thank you for your continued partnership in nurturing a safe and positive learning environment for all our students.

As the end of the year nears, and as we prepare for our end of the year Field Day/Cookout, we are asking families to make a donation. Each 8th grade homeroom teacher will be collecting donations starting from now until the event on June 7th. Please see the attached list and have students leave items with their teacher. If you have additional questions please reach out to your scholars homeroom teacher. Thank you for all of your support.

Lastly, we are asking for larger items, such as tents, coolers, that we can borrow for the event.
