Principal's Update
Happy Friday, Lakers!
We had an exciting week with our visiting author, Jarrett Lerner. All students got to hear him speak about being an author and illustrator. Check out the news story and some photos below! We also had a very successful first week of M-Step testing. A big thank you to our testing coordinator, Mrs. Cook, for helping everything to run smoothly. Please continue to make sure that your 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are here and on time on all testing days.
As is usually the case at the end of a season, our lost and found is overflowing again. The items will be on display in the foyer all of next week. Unclaimed items will be donated after Thursday, April 17th.
With the warmer weather hopefully arriving soon, we will have many more families walking and biking to school. Please keep an extra eye out for those pedestrians and cyclists and you drive in, around, and from the building. Additionally, we have had quite a few instances recently of students being dropped off after school begins and coming in without an adult. If you do not arrive in time to drop your student off in car line, please be sure to park and walk them in to the main office, where you will sign them in as tardy.
Finally, Mileage Club will be starting up again soon. Students LOVE being able to track their running/walking at recess, and we need you to make it happen! Mileage club can only happen on days when we have at least 2 volunteers. If you are available on one or more days from 10:50am-1:10pm, we would love you to join us. No experience necessary! Please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4BA5A82BA7FAC16-56235196-mileage
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

Featured Book
In Classroom Six, second left down the hall, Henry has been on the lookout for a friend. A friend who shares. A friend who listens. Maybe even a friend who likes things to stay the same and all in order, as Henry does. But on a day full of too close and too loud, when nothing seems to go right, will Henry ever find a friend—or will a friend find him? With insight and warmth, this heartfelt story from the perspective of a boy on the autism spectrum celebrates the everyday magic of friendship.
