Facilities Advisory Committee Meeting #3
The Facilities Advisory Committee held its third meeting on Tuesday, December 17, focusing on the most recent Building Condition Assessments (BCAs) for each of our school facilities. The group reviewed these assessments to determine whether specific infrastructure elements are in good, fair, or poor condition. This detailed analysis of the BCAs will guide the committee as they begin prioritizing projects for future facilities improvements.
Community Input at the Forefront
Committee members continued to bring insights gathered from community conversations about priority facility improvements. While these ideas are being analyzed by our project management group, CSG (Construction Services Group), the focus of this meeting remained on understanding the current condition of our facilities to inform future decision-making.
What’s Next?
The Facilities Advisory Committee will meet again in January to begin aligning project priorities with available funding options. This work will help shape a clear path forward for addressing the most critical needs in our school facilities.
Thank you to our committee members for their dedication to this important work. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue planning for the future of our schools!

4th Grade Salmon Release
Each year fourth grade students work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to study the habitat and development of salmon. Some highlights of this unit of study are a field trip to Spring Creek Fish Hatchery, salmon dissection, and a newly designed lesson on beavers' impact on habitat. Perhaps the most powerful part of the unit is the raising of salmon in each classroom from eyed eggs to smolt, culminating in their release into the Columbia River. We are truly grateful for this longtime partnership.
