Spicewood Elementary- Melanie Solis
May 3, 2024
Hello Spicewood Family!
There is so much to celebrate this week as our students are beginning the final push to the end of the school year. It is amazing to see the phenomenal growth that they have shown both academically and socially. We are so proud of the great work this school year!
Speaking of celebrating people for hard work, next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Our teachers and staff are some of the best at what they do and I am so grateful to have every single person on the team. We have such a strong school community and it is due to their hard work and true love for all of our students. Please make sure to scroll down to the PTA section to see how our teachers are being celebrated and join in where you can!
Next Friday is Field Day rain or shine so if you have signed up to help and are no longer able to, please check the Sign Up Genius to update your availability. If you are now able to help, please sign up for an open time slot. Thank you!
Have a great weekend!

Spicewood ALPPS Showcase
Our students participated in their ALPPs, Advanced Level Product and Performances, showcase this week. Students who participate in services designed for gifted/talented students are required to demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication by developing an innovative product and performance that reflects individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment. They also must present to multiple audiences that are different in nature. Our 1st-4th graders presented to parents at Spicewood and in their classrooms. Our 3-5th graders presented at Westwood for the district WLC showcase. We are very proud of all the hard work and thought that went into these projects.
