On behalf of the District 41 community, we send our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of our beloved Churchill School Math Coach Mrs. Suzanne Chlapecka. Mrs. Chlapecka passed away on Thursday, April 6, after experiencing a medical emergency at school. Extensive supports are being provided to Churchill students and staff as they work through a loss of this magnitude.
Thank you to the Churchill PTA for providing this lovely memory from their “Part of the Pack” interview series highlighting different staff members throughout the year. Mrs. Chlapecka responded to the following questions last year when she was highlighted in the newsletter. It is evident that she loved her students and the community at Churchill. As a district we are heartbroken and saddened by this loss. Please keep us in your thoughts. She will be missed.
Name/Job Title: Suzanne Chlapecka - Math Coach
Favorite thing about working at Churchill: The kids!
Hobbies/Interests outside of school: Reading, traveling, board games, Chicago Sports.
Childhood: I was born in New Jersey and grew up in Wheaton. My favorite subject in school was reading (funny because I'm the math coach, right?). I played volleyball and basketball.
Family Life: My husband and I have one daughter. Her name is Kate. We love watching her dance and do gymnastics. Our favorite places to vacation are Ft. Myers/Sanibel Island, Florida and Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Thank you for your continued support and thoughtfulness during this difficult time for our school district community.
