February 2025
We Need You!
Superstar Families,
Happy March! It is hard to believe that we are headed into Spring already. When I sit back and reflect on the first days of school to now, I am amazed at how much our Superstars have learned! I am so proud of their progress. I'm also so proud of our Superstar staff that is committed to the learning of all our students. There's still so much to learn. I can't wait to see what it looks like in June!
As always, I wanted to share some important information and dates.
- March 7 is a weather make up day. There will be no school on March 7.
- We spring forward on Sunday. Don't forget to move your clocks forward one hour.
- Parent Teacher conferences are next week. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 on March 13 and March 14.
- If you are going through the car dismissal line, please stay in your car. We will bring your Superstar to you.
- Don't forget to have your Superstar wear appropriate shoes on the days they have p.e.!
- Our lost and found is full. Please check the hooks outside the front door to see if your Superstar has lost anything. Below are pictures of glasses that have been lost.
We're so thankful for your partnership with us. We do not take it for granted that our partnership is so important. You, as an expert on your Superstar, help make each day a success.

Nurse News
Students who become ill during the school day are sent to the office. Office staff will assess your student’s condition and contact parents if the student is ill enough to go home. These symptoms would include a student with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, vomiting or diarrhea, a bad cold or cough, a severe sore throat, drainage or redness in their eyes, a bothersome rash, or are injured or recovering from surgery.
If your student has had a fever, do not send them to school until they have been free of the fever without fever reducing medication for 24 hours. Do not send your student to school until they have been free from vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours. Some rashes may spread to others and should be checked by a health care provider. Students with persistent or hacking cough, or a severe sore throat may need to be seen by a health care provider. These symptoms may be a sign of a more severe illness.

Counselor's Corner
Hello Superstar Families!
We can’t believe that it is already March and spring is around the corner! This month we are focusing on how to be a better problem solver. Knowing how to solve problems effectively, helps us be a better friend and learner.
Students will learn the basic problem solving model of S.T.E.P.:
S ay the Problem
T hink of Solutions
E xamine the Consequences
P ick the Best One
This model helps break down the problem solving skills that students need in order to confidently solve the problems that might come up for them. It could be learning how to handle a strong feeling, solve a complicated situation with a friend or make a touch decision about something at home. Student will also be reminded that regardless of their problem they first need their Composure or “self-control in action.” Getting our composure helps us press the ‘pause’ button during moments of crisis and access the strengths that are in all of us.
Wishing you well,
Mr. Thomas, Counselor
Conscious Discipline
Teaching children to solve problems with self-control is an essential life skill that helps them navigate challenges calmly and respectfully. At school, we encourage students to pause, take deep breaths, and think before reacting when conflicts arise. By using words to express their feelings, listening to others, and seeking fair solutions, children learn to manage emotions and make positive choices. Practicing these skills at home and school builds confidence and helps create a supportive learning environment for everyone.
