December Edition
November Reflection
Wow! December is here! The school year is about half over already. Mrs. Aguinaga and I had so much fun in November, which was a very busy month for all of us! We started the month with a guidance lesson titled How to Apologize for grades PK-2nd. Through this story, students learned how to give an appropriate, sincere apology to someone. The students in 3rd-5th grades finished the Weird Book Series by listening to the third and last story about bullying.
Then, we celebrated the month by supporting Generation Texas Week which was November 18th-22nd, and National Career Development Month. Our PK-2nd grade students learned all about careers and learned how their passions and skills relate to what they want to be when they grow up. They listened to the story Snowmen at Work to get some ideas of different careers. They then created their snowperson to match what career they want to do when they grow up. Our 3rd-5th grade students learned about careers and the beginning process of choosing a pathway to reach their goals in regards to what they want to be when they grow up. We discussed researching the career that they are interested in, including researching colleges and trade schools. After each grade level's guidance lesson, they created their college pennants. We ended the month by playing a Career Guessing Game with grades PK and Kindergarten and for grades 1st-5th, they played Career Bingo.
On November 21st, we held our annual Cody Career Day. It was a big success! The students learned about different careers from our guest speakers which included; Firemen from the Cibolo Fire Department, an SAPD Drone Unit, a Dentist, an HEB truck driver, a Kens 5 News Camera Reporter, electricians from the NISD Maintenance Department, our Superintendent, Dr. Craft and many more. We enjoyed seeing the smiling faces of our students as they learned about different careers.
We would like to thank Boldt Elementary for all of their wonderful donations which helped our school and community so much! We are very grateful!
We are excited that November is over and we look forward to a new month full of brand-new lessons for our students as we get ready to close out 2024!
Kind regards,
