Dr. Pepukayi's Update
FULL TEXT OF DR. PEPUKAYI'S OCTOBER 10 UPDATE
Hello TCPS Families!
I’m recording this week's update at Easton High as we look forward to the Warriors' Homecoming festivities. Right behind me you can see the seniors decorating the halls, and in other halls, the underclassmen are also decorating. I hope students, families, and alumni have a fun and safe weekend.
The Board of Education will meet on Monday, October 14 at 5:30 pm for a work session, and on Wednesday, October 16 at 6 pm for its regular meeting. We invite community members to attend in person or watch the livestream, which will be available on the TCPS website.
Next Wednesday, October 16th, we wear orange to celebrate Unity Day. Together we will show our unity to support kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and send a clear message that no one should experience bullying.
Have a great weekend and remember it’s always a great day for success at TCPS!

Also on the main page is a link to "Subscribe" to receive the agendas for Board Work Sessions and Regular Board Meetings.
Congratulations to Jordan Bateson, 5th Grade Teacher at Tilghman Elementary School, our ACME teacher of the month!
Wear Orange on October 16th to show unity for kindness, acceptance and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying.
Disability History and Awareness Month. Different abilities. One Community.
Alebrijes
Through hands-on activities and research projects, students explored the historical significance and cultural symbolism of alebrijes, gaining a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and storytelling involved. This initiative not only highlighted the beauty and complexity of Mexican folk art but also emphasized the importance of embracing and respecting the diverse cultural identities within our communities. By incorporating these artistic traditions into the curriculum, the fine arts departments fostered a spirit of inclusion and awareness, encouraging students to celebrate Hispanic culture while broadening their own cultural perspectives. Congratulations to the team of creative and talented teachers and students for exposing us to this unique Mexican tradition.
