CURRENT 6TH GRADERS - TDAP REQUIREMENT
If you will be in the 7th grade during the 2024-2025 school year (which means you are a current 6th grader), you must meet the state of California's immunization requirement. This means that you must be up to date with the following (information taken from the California Department of Public Health):
STUDENTS STARTING 7th GRADE NEED:
Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) —1 dose
(Whooping cough booster usually given at 11 years and up)Varicella (Chickenpox) — 2 doses
(Usually given at ages 12 months and 4-6 years)
You must bring proof of up-to-date vaccinations to your child's registration date (Tuesday, July 30) in order to proceed through registration.
DROPOFF / PICKUP REMINDER 1
The staff parking lot entrance on Spruce Tree is reserved for staff only. While it may seem convenient to utilize that entrance during dropoff and pickup, we ask that you do not use that entrance for two reasons:
- Student Safety: we should avoid students walking in and through the parking lot. When students have to cross the street, this causes the flow of traffic to stop.
- Additional Traffic: cars that pull in through the staff parking lot entrance cause additional traffic for those waiting in the appropriate line. This is due to traffic having to stop to either let your child cross the street or to let your vehicle back into the flow of traffic.
DROPOFF / PICKUP REMINDER 2
Do not make a left turn onto Pecan Grove. Instead, continue driving up the hill and make a left on Bird's Eye instead.
Doing so will help:
- Student Safety: many students use the crosswalk to get across the street. Trying to make a left at Pecan Grove, especially with the volume of traffic, makes it difficult to see students who are crossing the street.
- Additional Traffic: Insisting on making a left turn at Pecan Grove causes the traffic flow to stop. This extends all the way back into the school parking lot where vehicles are unable to exit the lot due to the standstill traffic. Continuing up the hill and making a left on Bird's Eye helps keep the flow of traffic constant, allowing cars to exit the school lot once they pick up their child.
Instead of making a left on Pecan Grove, continue up the hill to Bird's Eye. From there:
- Make a left onto Indian Well
- Make a left onto Maple Hill
- Make a left onto Mountain Laurel OR continue on Maple Hill (both options lead to Diamond Bar Blvd)
OVERVIEW OF ROUTE
This map is an overview of the suggested route.
LATE BUS - CURB POLICY
If you are picking up your child at the conclusion of an after-school event such as a club meeting or a sports practice, please give our school bus the right of way. The school bus must be allowed to park alongside the curb so we ask that vehicles leave the front half of our school curb open for the bus.
NO [FOOD / HOMEWORK / ITEM] DROP-OFF AND DELIVERY
As a courtesy during the first week of school, we have allowed drop off of items in the front office. However, because of the disruption to the learning environment caused by deliveries, our office will no longer be accepting delivery of items, including, but not limited to food, homework, instruments, etc. If your child forgets to bring their lunch, they are welcome to enjoy a lunch from the cafeteria at no charge.
Unfortunately, if you bring an item for drop-off, the item will be denied. Thank you for your understanding in helping our school operate with minimal disruptions to the learning environment.
