Veterans Day Luncheon
On November 11th, Field Middle School honored our nation's heroes at our annual Veterans Luncheon. This special event was dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the service and sacrifice of veterans from all branches of the military. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal provided by The Big Red Community Foundation, engaged in conversation with their Field Middle School student, and listened to a program featuring student speakers and patriotic music from the Field Middle School choir. Veterans were also gifted a student created thank you card from the FMS our Leo's Club.
"What veterans have given our country is beyond our power to fully repay, yet, today we recognize our debt to their honor." -George W. Bush

College and Career Preparation
8th Grade Families: Welcome to SchooLinks!
SchooLinks is a college and career preparation platform that is a “one-stop-shop” for all of your student’s future planning needs!
Last month, Mrs. Gaffke guided students through the process of establishing a personal profile and facilitated exploration of all the useful features offered. SchooLinks includes a huge database for college and career searching, as well as personality and skills inventories that help match careers to students’ individual traits, interests, and abilities. As students transition to high school, they will access Schoolinks to schedule next year’s courses, create a four-year course plan that fulfills graduation requirements, and ultimately utilize it in the college application process. Feel free to explore SchooLinks with your student at home anytime by visiting https://app.schoolinks.com/login/k12 and logging in using their school email and password.

Attention Sixth Grade Parents
This letter is to inform you of the immunization requirements for (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis), as a booster to the initial series of required doses. Ohio is requiring the Tdap vaccine, as opposed to Td, to protect against Pertussis (whooping cough). In addition to the Tdap, your child is also required to receive the Meningococcal vaccine prior to the entry into Grade 7. The Meningococcal vaccine prevents bacteria that is commonly spread from person to person, especially in teens and young adults. These bacteria can cause meningitis, which is an infection of the fluid and lining surrounding the brain and spinal cord; it can also enter the bloodstream, causing sepsis. Please contact your health care provider to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccines your child will need for the next year. For a complete list of immunization requirements for school-age children in the State of Ohio, please go to: www.odh.ohio.gov/odhPrograms/dis/Immunization/imunchsc.aspx REQUIRED 7th Grade shots (2 shots): · Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) · Meningococcal vaccine
