A NOTE FROM MRS. B
Howdy Bronco Family! Boy, do we a busy couple of weeks ahead of us before we get to our Thanksgiving break. Basketball season is here. This former baller is little biased and thinks it’s the most wonderful time of the year. We have a few home games coming up. I love seeing our students at the games cheering on the Lady Broncos and Broncos. However, the basketball gym is not the place for students to run and play. Please make sure your child is seated in the stands enjoying the games with the fans. The gym foyer and concession stand area is not a place for running and playing either. If your child is visiting the concession stand or restroom, please make sure they are taking care of their business and getting back to the stands to sit. Thank you for your assistance in this matter!
Elementary District. UIL is almost here. The students will compete on Tuesday, November 19th in Wellman and Thursday, November 21st in Whitharral. Information will go home next week. All the students and coaches have been preparing and practicing hard and are ready bring home lots of medals and ribbons.
Thanksgiving lunch will be Friday, November 22nd. A note went home this week with all the information. A big change from previous years is that tickets must be purchased in advance. You will not be able to purchase a plate at the door.
Remember, you can always find the latest Meadow ISD news on the MISD website and Facebook page, so go check them out! Also, check your kiddo’s backpack and folders for any important paper notes that may have gone home.

Super second grade!
We've had the best week so far! On Election day we ran our very own Great Cookie Election! We learned all about Election Day and the importance of voting. We created our cookie campaigns, set up our poll booths, decided on poll workers, and invited people to exercise their right to vote. We had some fun guests come through our room and the kids did such a great job handling crowds and showing off their hospitality skills. It was the best day! We also made our own voter registration cards, future voter crowns, and presented on what we would all do if we were president. We had so much fun and in the words of second graders "I think we did a pretty great job at making our community a better place."
..... If you haven't heard Oreo won our election!
Thank you for all you do.
Mrs.Alaniz
..... ¡Si no has oído que Oreo ganó nuestras elecciones!
Gracias por todo lo que haces.
Sra. Alaniz

3rd Grade ELAR
Spelling/Vocabulary
Our words this week are more words with suffixes. As well as being able to spell the words, students are learning how to identify the different word endings and their meanings. Please help your child study each week ready for a test on Friday.
AR Reading
All students must read every evening for at least 20 minutes. Reading regularly builds the vocabulary needed for your child to be successful in class.
Reading
While continuing with Lonestar, our online program, I am introducing weekly STAAR level passages for students to complete more independently. You may see a change in grades as students transition from group and teacher centered activities and begin to work more on their own.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you!
Mrs. McCormick
¡Gracias!
Sra. McCormick

MRS. BAYER - 4TH GRADE
This week 4th & 5th grade have been working on defining, looking for the specific characteristics, and identifying the different literary genres. We have also been exploring theme. We have learned that the theme has to be a lesson or moral that is bigger than the story itself. This is hard for the students to put their thoughts into words, sometimes. The more you can get them to look at the things at round them and talk about the life lessons they observe, would really be helpful. Maybe ask them the theme of a television show, song, or interaction with other family members. The more they can think and express themselves verbally, the more comfortable they will become at articulating their ideas in class and in written work. Thank you for always pushing the students to be there best. Keep encouraging them to read every night!
MS. GAMEZ -5TH GRADE
4th & 5th Grade Math
-In 4th Grade, we are almost wrapping up long division. Overall, it has not been too bad. We still need to work and add a few activities for that extra practice, but they have done amazing with long division. We are headed to Financial Literacy. I like that this next chapter because it gives students a glimpse of what adults and parents take care of financially in the home.
This class is full of hard workers. They make my teacher heart happy, even when it gets a little rowdy.
-In 5th Grade, we are starting to divide with decimals. Today was not so bad but I know it’s coming. These guys dislike long division. Please keep us in your thoughts.
Thank you for your support,
Stacy Gamez
Stacy Gamez.
