Planning Meeting, All Encouraged to Attend: Tuesday January 28th, 6:30 in the Byam Library.

Even if you're not planning to be an exhibitor, we encourage as many families as possible to come to hear how you can join us to make this a first annual successful event.

The Byam Celebrating Us Multicultural Festival is meant to be an enriching event for all students and families to share traditions, heritage, and knowledge about any culture. Exhibitor families can pick their own culture or choose another culture to share with others. A sign up google form link is below to sign up as an exhibitor. This event will allow children and families to learn more about cultures from around the world. There will be interactive games, food, and displays. Family exhibitors can share at their table, for example, how to speak or write in a different language, or make a craft, play a game, wear clothing or use an instrument from another country. Have a family recipe food sample or recipe card you'd like to share? Have a family tradition or game your child(ren) would like to share with others? That would be great! If you and your family are interested in running an interactive station, fill in the form below. This form is collecting names of families and students who will be on the list of "Exhibitors" for the Celebrating Us 6:30-7:30 pm evening on Wednesday March 19th 2025 at Byam School for planning purposes. A table will be set up for each family who signs up as an exhibitor. Feel free to co-exhibit with another family!

The Next Celebrating Us Planning and Information sharing date for all parents/guardians/students interested in being an Exhibitor at the event is January 28th, 6:30-7:30 in the Byam Library...come one, come all to help, contribute, ask questions about planning and the event! Students who have questions or would like to brain storm are welcome attend with their parent(s).

Today we reminded students that next week is the annual Great Kindness Week Challenge. Students are encouraged all next week to spread kindness through school, home, and their community. Below is the kick off video students are viewing in school, as well as the Junior checklists for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students, and the 50 Kind Acts for Grades 2-4 that students are receiving in their classrooms. We encourage all our students to have fun with this challenge and Keep Kindness in Mind!

Any student is welcome to make a homemade card or poster that can be turned into the main office next Monday through Thursday morning for delivery during our Pride Ambassador after school visit to Sunny Acres Nursing Home and Rehabilitative Center on 1/30.

On Thursday, January 30, members our our 4th grade PRIDE Ambassadors will be visiting Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford. They will be performing some songs while they visit for members of the Sunny Acres Community. We have 11 students thus far attending, if you are interested in meeting us with your 4th grade student at 4:00 pm on January 30th, please email Betsy Dolan at dolane@chelmsford.k12.ma.us by Tuesday 1/28.

Dear Parents,

Cold and Flu season is upon us. There are several things you can do at home to help prevent illness and help keep everyone feeling healthy this season. Keep in mind it is not too late to get a flu shot to protect against seasonal flu and its potential complications. Illnesses like colds and flu are spread from person to person via respiratory droplets. These droplets are spread by coughing, sneezing or by touching objects or people with contaminated hands. STIPULATIONS:

• Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2025.
• Parents/guardians must complete the Google form above with contact information and preferred appointment time (appointments take approximately 15 minutes) within a three-hour window.
• A staff member will follow-up with each parent to confirm date and time of appointment.

Tickets for this year's Sweetheart Dance are now available for purchase! This year students are able to bring up to *TWO* special adults, tickets are $12 each and both students and adults require tickets for entrance. Please note, tickets are limited so do not delay! There will be no tickets available for purchase at the door of the event.

Join us for a night of fun! Dancing, crafts, and photos! Each student will receive a flower upon entrance into the dance! Pizza and water will be available for purchase.

Hey all! Happy New Year! We are so excited to start planning the 2025 Byams Got Talent Show (formerly Hootenanny)! This year will be "Lights, Camera, Action!" If your child is interested in signing up for the show please fill out the registration google form. If your child is in 4th grade and would like to be an Emcee this year please let us know through the google form as well. There will only be room for roughly 10 Emcees so let us know ASAP!

If you have done the talent show in the past things may be a bit different, so if you have questions just ask! We won't be doing a zoom audition so please send as much information as possible about your child's act on the google form. We do need the acts to be under 3 minutes long and any music needs to be sent to this email as an MP3 as it gets closer to the show.

No stage experience necessary, we want ALL kids to feel welcome and excited to join the show!

Please submit your child's registration NO LATER than FEBRUARY 14th to guarantee their spot in the show!

We have also attached the information to submit advertisements to the program! If you have been to the show before you may have seen them in the program as well as running in the slide show before the show! If you are interested in submitting an advertisement to the program please fill out and submit the ad to shannflann@gmail.com. Also, if you would like to ask any local companies to do so we would LOVE their support!
