Learning about Edible Plants
Students explore our very own Hydroponic Planter. Students examined some of the different edible plants growing at PKS. Basil grows near the top of our tower, and we were trying to describe the aroma after pinching off a little sample of leaves. Also growing are Bok Choy, Bibb Lettuce, Arugula, and Peppers are just transforming from buds to actual peppers. We had to be detectives to find the little red and green gems growing near the middle of the plant. PKS has several areas where edible plants are growing. Soon, Mrs. Hillman will be starting the PKS Kindness Butterfly Garden!

SAY SOMETHING WEEK
The Sandy Hook Promise Say Something program is aimed at promoting school safety. Its purpose is to empower students to SAY SOMETHING when they see or hear things that could be warning signs that someone wants to hurt themselves or others. Students participated in events all week reinforcing program concepts.
