HELLO November 🙂

Mrs. Glover and Mrs. McCraney will be visiting classrooms and working with students on College & Career Readiness during their classroom visits. The month of November is all about promoting College, Career and Military Readiness. Throughout the school students will be doing career inventories, watching college tours and learn more about their future career choices. Our focus this month is College and Career.

You can help reinforce what students are learning from the counselors by doing the following

✔️ Talk to your child about their plans for their future. What college would they like to attend?

✔️ Make a list of the different careers they are interested in.

✔️ Plan to arrange a virtual visit to a community college with your child.

✔️ Invite family members who have graduated from high school, college or are in the military to talk to your child about their experiences.

✔️ Give your child time at home to login to Xello and work on their missions or career town

✔️ Help your child work on their College & Career Choice Board

The mission of the De Zavala Counseling Department is to collaborate with stakeholders to promote kindness, compassion and respect among the entire student body by providing them with the social emotional tools needed to assist with real-life experiences.

The vision of the De Zavala Counseling Department is to empower all students in reaching their maximum potential and becoming responsible, contributing 21st century leaders. Through our comprehensive counseling program, we will address academic, social emotional and career goals which will empower their college, career, military and emotional readiness.
