8th Graders with a "heart of gold"

If you have leggings or sweatpants in good condition that your student has outgrown, please consider donating them to the health office at West.
We also need new cotton underwear for teenage girls (12-14 years of age).
Thanks for any help!
Targeted Support Conferences May 9
On Thursday, May 9, 2024 we have a non-school day designated as a conference day. However, instead of traditional conferences, teachers will be reaching out by phone to the families of students with academic concerns.
If you don't receive a call from your child’s CREW leader, rest assured that it means your scholar is doing well academically. Teachers will also utilize this time for planning, collaboration, and connecting with specific student’s families as needed to ensure our students have a strong finish to the school year.
You can find staff contact info here.

Social-Emotional Learning Survey May 6 - 31
Building our social-emotional learning (SEL) skills is an important goal for our school this year. We will be asking for your 6-12th grade child to reflect on their mindsets and approaches to learning via an online survey they will be completing at school in their advisory period. The survey will ask students to self-reflect on social and emotional competencies that align with the Hopkins scholar traits outlined in the district's strategic plan.
We are asking that all our students participate in the surveys. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they can skip the item. The responses to these surveys are completely confidential. If you have any questions about the SEL survey or would like information about opting out, please don’t hesitate to contact us. You may also choose to opt your student out of this survey no later than May 3rd here.

Let's Talk About Sex: Parents as Sexuality Educators (PASE)
Please join Caroline, West's Health Mentor from myHealth for Teens & Young Adults, for a workshop where parents and caregivers will identify values and messages they would like to share with their children, learn typical stages of adolescent sexual development, and discuss effective communication skills for talking with their children about various sexuality topics. The goal is to build confidence so parents and caregivers can communicate their values (whatever those may be!) and feel comfortable having conversations with their kiddos.
This workshop will be offered at two different times, in two different formats. The content will be the same, so please attend whichever works better for your schedule:
