Eighth Graders Craft Comfort to Support Ryan's Case for Smiles
Eighth grade students in Mrs. Mercedes Gomez-Myers' Fibers and Fabrics participated in a community service project for the organization, Ryan's Case for Smiles. It is an organization that creates and distributes whimsical pillowcases that give children an emotional boost that remind them that they are not defined by their serious childhood illness or injuries. You can learn more about this organization at https://caseforsmiles.org/. Check out the adorable pillowcases our students made and sent to Ryan's Case for Smiles!
Bocce Ball Bonding: Trimmer & MS Clubs Enjoy Friendly Competition and Social Fun
Last week, the Bocce Ball clubs from Trimmer Elementary and the Middle School played together in Trimmer's Gymnasium. They enjoyed the opportunity to connect and play each other, as well as enjoy a balloon and popsicle social. A great time was had by all! (Working on photo collage now)
Celebrating Excellence: Lincolnway Hall of Fame Sounders Create Tie-Dye Shirts
Celebrating Heritage: Fourth Grade English Learners Shine with Research Projects
Fourth Grade English Learner Gems in Ms. Shanda Goodwin's class at Trimmer Elementary completed research projects about their home countries. They chose their own questions, researched the answers, and wrote paragraphs about their learning. Students also wrote about their experiences in the countries and why people should go there. The Gems created self portraits to celebrate their own heritage!
We Want Your Feedback!
As we move toward the 2024-2025 school year, we would like to receive your feedback on the Blue & White Newsletter's contents. What are the highlights for you? What would you like to see more of? Is there anything you would like to see new/different to improve the value of this communication for you and your family? Please use the link below to take our short survey.
Join Trimmer Elementary's Summer Garden Care and Harvest!
Summer is here, and so is the vibrant garden at Trimmer Elementary! This year our students at Trimmer Elementary planted strawberries, beef tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, bush and pole beans, sweet peppers, lettuce, spinach, red beets, and carrots! Thanks to the plentiful rain, our garden is thriving!
We'd like our vegetables to continue to be successful, and we'd love to share them with the community! If you'd like to help water and harvest them, please sign up for a date/time by clicking the link bar below. This year, we're also going to try something different. Every Wednesday will be a "Weeding Wednesday." We're hoping to get a group of people on Wednesday mornings to work together and pull some weeds. Last year, things got really overgrown and we lost our blueberry plants to the weeds. This summer, we'd like to stay more on top of them.
Thank you for your interest, and Ms. Megan Eckbold and Mr. Glenn Medice hope to see you out there!
