Middle School Black/Gold Rotation Days
MN History Field Trip
Virtual Academy Middle School Field trip to: Fort Snelling, State Capitol, Minnehaha Falls Park and Indian Burial Mounds
Planned by: Virtual Academy Team
Purpose: For students to perform exploration activities of Fort Snelling, State Capitol, Minnehaha Falls and the Indian Burial Mounds
Date: Friday, May 24, 2024 Time: 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM
On Friday, May 24th, all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be going to Fort Snelling, the State Capitol, Minnehaha Falls, and the Indian Burial Mounds to participate in exploration of MN history activities. Students will need to be dropped off at Vista View Elementary by 7:45 a.m. down by door 6 (parking lot area, not in front of the school) and board the bus and depart by 8:00 a.m. You will need to bring your own bag lunch. Dress for the weather. Some of the activities will be outside. We will return to Vista View Elementary at 3:30 p.m.
*Please note: This is a Legacy Field Trip Support Fund, which is a grant provided by the Northern Lights MN History Education Center. Funding is also provided by ISD 191 Social Studies Curriculum.
Chaperones: If you wish to chaperone, please contact the Virtual Academy office at 952-707-2900 or one of your VA Teachers. In order to be a chaperone you need to complete a District One91 Volunteer Background Check. Here is the link to apply https://www.isd191.org/community/volunteer

Graduation
If you plan to walk in graduation and have not yet communicated that information, PLEASE reach out to me, Mrs. Akerson, at rakerson@isd191.org or call/ text me at 952-707-6075.
Thursday, June 6-MANDATORY REHEARSAL AT 8AM
Please be in the BHS gymnasium and in your seats promptly at 8am. Before entering the gym, you will scan a QR code which will indicate your seat number.
You will receive 2 commemorative graduation programs and 3 guest tickets. Do not lose the tickets as that is what will be needed if the ceremony takes place inside. We will not have extra tickets, so do not lose them!
There will be buses to take you home after the rehearsal (around 10:30am). It will be the activity bus routes.
Friday, June 7- GRADUATION AT 6:00PM
STUDENTS ONLY-park and enter at Door #18 (bus drop off/pick up). Start arriving between 4:45pm & 5pm. Please proceed to the designated area (gym or hallway). All students need to be in the designated area by 5:30pm, so plan accordingly and allow yourselves enough time.
If the ceremony is OUTSIDE at Pates Stadium
Stadium gates will open at 4:30pm.
We will not allow balloons or noise makers in the stadium.
There will be plenty of porta-pottys inside the stadium. There will be no entrance into the school to use bathrooms.
Please plan accordingly as our parking lots fill up quickly.
If any individuals are unable to sit outside, they can view the ceremony inside the MRAZ center.
If the ceremony is INSIDE in the Gymnasium (Due to weather)
3 guests will be allowed to sit in the gymnasium. Each guest must present a ticket (given to the students at rehearsal).
Starting at 4:30pm, guests can enter the building through Door 1 only.
We will not allow balloons or noise makers in the gymnasium.
Please plan accordingly as our parking lots fill up quickly.
Cap & Gown Pick Up
Cap & gowns that were ordered should have been picked up from BHS, if you have not picked them up, please do so ASAP.

9-12 Credit Recovery
Registration has now opened for the 2024 Credit Recovery Summer Program. Registration is completed with a student's counselor after a credit audit has been conducted. Please contact your student's counselor to register.
Attached you will find the Frequently Asked Questions document for Credit Recovery which explains information such as how to enroll, when programming will be taking place, and who to contact for more information.

Who can apply: Any student grades 9-12 that are credit deficient in at least 1 class.

Youth Service Credit Application
On Monday May 20th, the application for the Youth Service Credit will go live until Monday June 3rd. To earn the Youth Service Credit you must have your hours of service confirmed in your my.innerview.org account. Students that have 40 hours of volunteer service documented will be able to apply for .5 of a Youth Service Credit, while students that have earned a minimum of 80 hours of volunteer service will be able to apply for 1 Youth Service Credit. You may only earn this credit 1 time in your academic history. Please pay attention to the BHS Schoology Page beginning on Monday May 20th to obtain the link for the application.
