Super Husky Weekend
Hewitt-Trussville Athletics is excited to host "Super Husky Weekend"! The Outdoor Track & Field teams will host the AHSAA Sectional on Friday and Saturday. HT Baseball will host Hoover Friday and Saturday in the opening round of the 7A playoffs. HT Softball will host the 7A Area 6 Tournament beginning on Saturday.

Outdoor Track & Field to Host AHSAA Sectional
Hewitt-Trussville Outdoor Track & Field will host the AHSAA Sectional Meet this week.
Dates/Times: Friday April 26 10am-3:30pm and Saturday April 27 9am-3:30pm

Baseball to Host Hoover in 7A Playoffs
Hewitt-Trussville Baseball will host Hoover in the opening round of the 7A Playoffs this week. Games will be played at Phil English Field behind HTMS. It is a best two out of three series.

Hewitt-Trussville Softball will host the 7A Area 6 Tournament beginning on Saturday. The top two finishers will advance to the AHSAA Regional.

HT Softball Schedule/Results:
Outdoor Track & Field: Girls 1st; Boys 3rd at HT Invitational
The HT Outdoor Track & Field teams concluded the regular season on Friday at the Hewitt-Trussville Invitational. The HT Girls finished 1st out of 20 teams and the HT Boys finished 3rd out of 26 teams. The Huskies will now prepare for the AHSAA Sectional Meet which will be held in Trussville April 26-27.

Softball Wins on Senior Night; Burt Honored for Win #400
HT Softball defeated Curry 2-1 on Tuesday night as the Huskies celebrated Senior Night. Sara Phillips pitched a complete game to pick up the win. Chaney Peters drove in a pair of runs in the 6th inning to give the Huskies the lead.
The Softball Senior class has won two state titles and also has a state runner-up finish. They have won three regional titles and three Area titles. Their overall record is 168-25-2.
Coach Taylor Burt was honored after the game for surpassing 400 wins as a head coach. Coach Burt has 270 wins as head coach at Hewitt-Trussville and has led the Huskies to three state titles.
Girls Golf Wins Final Regular Season Event
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Golf team closed the regular season by winning the Bert McGriff Classic on Tuesday. This was the fifth tournament win of the season for the Huskies.
All four HT golfers shot in the 70's during Tuesday's final round. Aubrey Payne shot a 71 on Tuesday and finished 3rd overall. Merritt Daniel shot 72 in the final round, Morgan Hopper fired a 76, and Emma Bark shot 77.
The Huskies will now prepare for the AHSAA 7A Section 3 Tournament that will be held at Highland Park on Tuesday April 30. The top two teams will advance to the AHSAA North Sub-Regional Tournament.

Boys Gold 2nd at Warrior Invite
HT Boys Golf finished 2nd at the Warrior Invite. Colten Sutton and Gavin Isbell shot 73 and finished in the top three out of 70 golfers. Sutton and Isbell were named to the All-Tournament Team. Jacob Carmichael recorded a top-10 finish.

Jordan Hunter Named Girls Basketball 7A Player of the Year
HT Senior Jordan Hunter was named the 7A Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Hunter and her teammates compiled a 28-6 overall record this year and advanced to the state championship game. Hunter was recently named as one of the five players on the Super All-State Team.
Bowling Tryout Information
Tryouts for the HTHS and HTMS bowling teams will be Monday May 6 and Wednesday May 8 at 3:30 pm at Sparetime.
Tryout format will be 3 traditional games on Monday (if time allows) and match format on Wednesday.
Students are required to be at both days of tryouts to be considered for the team unless previously excused by Coach Blume.
Parent meeting will be Thursday May 9 at 5:30 pm. Location TBD.

The 2024 HT Swimming team is open to 7th Grade-12th Grade TCS students. The team will begin competition this Fall. Interested students are encouraged to complete the form below.
Athletic Physicals Set for May 10
School athletic physicals will take place on May 10, 2024 at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium. Students wishing to participate in athletics that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2024-2025 school year should attend.

A. All students grades 7-12 that participate in Athletics must have a current physical. School physical day is set to help all students get an updated physical
Q. Who needs to attend?
A. All students that will be in grades 7-12 during the 2024-2025 school year that wish to participate in Athletics should attend. This includes current 6th graders that wish to participate in Athletics during 2024-2025 as 7th graders.
Q. Where will school physicals take place?
A. Hewitt-Trussville Stadium (Enter at Main Gate)
Q. What time does the event begin?
A. Students at HTHS can start during their athletic period. Students at HTMS should come after school ends for the day.
Q. How much does it cost?

Q. My child just got a physical. Do they need to come?
A. Yes. Physicals are good for one year. Students who get a physical in May will be covered for the entire 2024-2025 school year.
MS Baseball Wins Metro
The HTMS Baseball team completed a 26-1-2 season with a victory in the Metro Championship game. The Huskies entered as the #1 seed and defeated Helena 17-3 in the semifinal. In the championship game, HT beat Bragg 4-2. Hudson Mitchell was the winning pitcher as he threw 5 1/3 innings and struck out 12 batters. Mitchell added a hit and three RBI's. Axel Hall scored three runs.
Boys 2nd; Girls 3rd at Metro Outdoor Meet
The HT Outdoor Track & Field teams competed in the Metro Championship Meet. The HT Boys finished 2nd and the HT Girls finished 3rd.
