Early Pick-ups
- Notify the office, as early as you can, if you are picking up your child for an appointment. When picking up your child early, please come to the front door of the school for your child's safety.
- Call before 2:30pm (1:30pm on Wednesdays) if you need to change your child's after school plans.
- Do not pick up your child early to avoid parking lot congestion. Research shows coming to school late and early pick-up can negatively affect student performance. Early pickups are recorded as missing part of the day.
We want to team with you so your child has a positive learning environment.

Notes from Nurse Stephanie
Hello Sage families!
My name is Stephanie and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the School Nurse. I have been a Pediatric Nurse for 15 years, with most of my career being in the hospital setting at Doernbecher in the Pediatric ICU. My family and I moved to Central Oregon a few years ago and I have been commuting back and forth to Portland, which has been wonderful but tiring. My passion as a nurse is working with children and I am so thankful for the opportunity to pursue it at the school level!
I love Central Oregon and my home in Terrebonne is my most favorite place in the world! I have three children (two of whom are here at Sage with me!) and a handful of “starter-farm” animals, including dogs, chickens and some new baby kittens. I love camping, hiking and exploring our community with a good cup of coffee in hand.
Thank you for keeping your kids home when they are sick and for reaching out with questions about isolation - The Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Department of Education have comprehensive guidelines about isolation and communicable disease prevention and I utilize their guidance. I want all of our students to come to school as healthy as possible, so that their brains and bodies are ready to learn and grow best. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
A few tips:
For younger students, please have a change of clothes in their backpacks or cubbies, and if your kiddo happens to borrow a set of clothes from school, please send them back so I can keep them for the next accident
Lunch times for some grades are late in the day and although we do have breakfasts provided for all students, I’ve found some need a little something more to support their bodies until lunch time. Some good, healthy options are cheese sticks, fruit and nuts, whole grain crackers and peanut butter (or other nut butters), or protein muffins, and of course, please remember a water bottle!
Lots of colds and germs are circulating and the best way we can protect ourselves and others is by staying home when we are sick, washing our hands well and practicing respiratory hygiene (coughing into our elbows, using tissues appropriately and again, washing hands frequently), please reinforce this with your children to help keep them and their classmates safe
Please let me know if your student needs medication (even cough drops) and I’ll send you the appropriate form so we can safely administer it to them or ensure their safety as they keep it in their backpack
I have loved getting to know our students - thank you so much for sharing your sweet children with me!
Arrival and DIsmissal
Arrival and Dismissal time at Sage is extremely busy! Having over 470 students enter and exit one school can be a little tricky! You will experience traffic in our parking lot, and while it's not fun to wait, for the safety of our students and for the ease of traffic, please observe the following guidelines:
Arrival Time at Sage
- Please pull your car forward to the furthest spot in the drop off lane (lane 1). Please do not stop at the beginning of the drop off lane or mid-way through the drop off lane. Please follow these guidelines rather than dropping your student off in front of their arrival/dismissal door.
- Please do not drop off students in lanes 2 or 3. You may park in these rows. Your child may walk by themself, and/or you may accompany them using the designated crossing areas. Parents and students should use sidewalks at all times and only cross where there is staff supervision.
- Please remember supervision begins at 8:45am. The tardy bell rings at 8:55am.
Dismissal Time at Sage
For the safety of ALL……...Please keep the entrance and exit of the parking lot free of parked cars. All three lanes must be kept clear.
Please keep driving lanes clear. Please do not double park behind parked cars and block the driving lanes at any time. Do not block the center crosswalks in the parking lot.
For the safety of ALL……..Please DO NOT park in the staff/bus parking lot. Bus drivers and staff leaving school cannot see when an unexpected student walks in-between vehicles. (Please plan for another option for dismissal time pick up.)
Please note that in the school zone the speed limit is 20 mph from 7:00am to 5:00pm for the protection of all students including students walking to and from school using the crosswalks.
We lead by example! When we practice considerate and patient behavior in the parking lot, kids will follow our example. Take a minute to wave someone on and share a smile!
Please remember we are doing our best to create a process that is:
SAFE, RESPECTFUL & RESPONSIBLE
We need everyone’s help!
