Happy April to everyone and Happy spring break to all!

April is an exciting month as we begin to prepare for the initial visits of our pre Kindergarten students who are starting Kindergarten in September 2016. We are hosting a Kindergarten Orientation evening May 4, 5:30-6:30pm.

May 5 & 6, we will be hosting our Kindergarten Screening. The appointment times will be arranged in our office and we will notify families closer to these dates.

We look forward to connecting with all our new Kindergarten students and parents in May. If you know of someone who has a child that is of Kindergarten age starting in September, please let them know that they can stop by the school and pick up a registration package anytime between 8:30-4:30pm.

Elmdale PAC would like to thank the families who participated in the Sunshine fundraiser. We raised a total profit of $2,555.00. Congratulations to the following prize winners: Olivia Unrau 2T, Katelyn Lysak KamP, and Vanessa Esau 2F. Also, congratulations to 4M who will have a gelato class party for highest class sales.

In the next several weeks, Elmdale students will have the opportunity to participate in Grade level variety shows. These variety shows provide an excellent opportunity for Elmdale students to share an interest or talent they have with the rest of the school community. The variety shows are held Friday mornings during our regular assembly time (9:10 - 9:45). Watch for letters to come home in the coming weeks with more information.

There were exciting things going on in our kindergarten classrooms this past St. Patrick's Day. Kate Penner interviews Mrs. Doerksen about these fun events.

Parents and their pre-kindergarten children are invited to a kindergarten orientation on May 4 at 5:30pm. Parents of pre-kindergarten children will be notified of their child's May 5 or 6 screening interview time. Each child will attend stations that review the development of concepts, speech, and language. There will be regular kindergarten classes on these dates.
