Dear CES Family,

Did you know that our CES Volcanoes have had an amazing winter sports season? That's right. The collage below is from the youth wrestling tournament that was held at CHS last Saturday. It reflects a sampling of our students performed really well, including first-grader Quinn Bradford, who won multiple matches that day. It's so much fun to watch our students learn so much about themselves in the realm of sports! Also, our basketball season wrapped up a few weeks ago and the success there was amazing for both the boys and the girls teams, with our third and fourth-grade girls team going undefeated (they were the only team to do so...quite an accomplishment...see the picture here).

Dozens of our students have participated in these two sports. So many of our parents helped to create these experiences for our kids. Leading the way for wrestling is Jason Kramer and his coaching team. In the basketball arena, Mike White headed things up for the boys and Ashley Wade for the girls. So many others also volunteered as well, donating dozens of hours of their time. We're grateful for all of the parents that made this happen. Our community is a better place as a result. Thank you!

4/16 Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten Round-Up, 3:30-5:00, CES Gym

It's time to start thinking about the 2024-2025 school year! With that in mind, our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten Round-Up is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th, from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the CES gym. A little bit about the age requirements:

• A child is eligible for TK enrollment if they meet one of two age criteria:
• A child turns 5 years old between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025.
• A child turns 4 years old between June 3, 2024 and Sept. 1, 2024. This is a new extension of the age requirement for registration for the 2024-2025 school year that will allow additional students to enroll. If you wish to choose the latter option, please know that a TK readiness assessment will be administered to all students in this category in order to ensure an appropriate placement.
  
• A child is eligible for Kindergarten enrollment if a child turns 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024

Why are we extending the enrollment window for TK enrollment? Because it's good for kids. We have a tremendous program run by Mrs. Culver that is focused on providing her students with both the social and academic readiness skills necessary to ensure their success in Kindergarten and in the grade levels beyond.
