Greetings Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy Families,

Happy Friday! Celebrating ANOTHER week of learning and growing a PLA Virtual. Next week is our final week of 2024. We will have full days, Monday-Thursday and school will be closed for scholars on Friday, December 20, 2024. We know this can be a challenging time of year for many, so always remember, we are here for you.

Winter Testing is in full effect and we are so proud of our Elementary scholars for successfully completing Reading and Math NWEA. We look forward to review and sharing growth data with you soon. We use this data to drive instruction and set a strong foundation for Semester 2 teaching and learning. We appreciate your partnership and always ensuring your scholar is present and rested for all testing and assessments.

We will also close out ALL high school courseware courses today, so please be sure your scholar has all assignments completed by midnight Friday, December 13, 2024.

Also, if your scholar is CLASS of 2025, please be sure to order their cap and gown by December 15, 2024. We know this seems early, but Herff Jones needs time to order for lots of schools, not just ours, and they need time to ensure an early arrival prior to graduation. If you have ANY questions, please reach out to me directly as Mrs. Moses is on maternity leave.

Registration is still open for the 2024-2025 Academic School Year. Please share your success at PLA Virtual with friends, family, neighbors and organizations, as we may be a great school choice for them as well. Our registration link is below. We appreciate all the referrals that have been shared with us by YOU. They are proud to give your name as the person who referred them, and we also sing your praises in return as we appreciate all of our families.

We look forward to seeing your scholar(s) on Monday, December 16, 2024 for week 20 of our school year! Our Grades 6-12 scholars begin their school day at 8:00am and our Grades K-5 scholars begin at 8:30am.

Center for Leadership Development

Center for Leadership Development (CLD) is a pillar in the Indianapolis community offering MILLIONS of dollars on scholarships to worthy students statewide. Students are required to participate in their programming, complete the SAT, and apply to the colleges of the interest that are also in partnership with CLD.

Center for Leadership Development is also hosting our college and career prep events, so make sure mark your calendars and attend!

-Trine University offers $1,000 for each dual credit college course passed if the student attends Trine U after graduation from high school.

-Trine University offers $18,000 for ONE student out of the entire Phalen Network each year that can be applied toward a college degree from Trine.

Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy (PLA Virtual) is a tuition-free online learning academy for Indiana families in grades K-12. We are backed by an accredited university to help empower our scholars and families to accelerate academic success with high-quality curriculum taught in their own environment. We use technology to provide interactive and rigorous online classes that allow our scholars to learn and thrive.
