The funds raised through this event will be put toward STREAM and tuition assistance.
Re-Registration Reminder
Each family is asked to re-register their child(ren) to secure their spot for the next school-year. We anticipate another busy year in admissions and strongly encourage all families to register as soon as registration opens. We will be offering an early bird discount on the registration fee again this year. Register by Friday March 5th and pay only $75 per child! After March 5th the registration fee will go to $100 per student.
Our first priority is securing spots for the 2021-2022 school-year for the students of our current families (you!). We will hold all spots until March 5, 2021. Your registration and registration fee secure your child's spot.
If you have questions about registering for the 2021-2022 school-year, please contact Mrs. Kim Knuutila at knuutilak@desalescatholicschool.org. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact, Mrs. Annette Wojcinski at wojcinskia@desalescatholicschool.org.

Spiritual Life - Little Bites from Heaven
What are Little Bites from Heaven? The Spiritual Life Committee knows how important faith is to our families at DeSales. However, we also know families lead busy lives and finding time to sit down to foster that faith, read the Bible together and answer the questions our children have about God sometimes takes a back seat to other things. That’s why we think Little Bites from Heaven is a great tool to do just this. Dinnertime allows an opportunity to connect over food while having fun, joyful and meaningful faith-building conversations with your children. Little Bites from Heaven provides devotional time for all family members that includes scripture, questions to discuss and a short devotional. It’s as simple as read the scripture and devotion and discuss the questions together. We believe Little Bites from Heaven will help to prioritize what is most important and at the same time, foster and grow a deeper understanding of your family’s faith rooted in Jesus Christ.
Devotional: STILL GROWING
Imagine if a baby just stayed a baby – never growing up or getting bigger. Something would be terribly wrong with a baby who didn’t grow. And something would be wrong with a Christian who never grew either – a Christian who stayed a baby in faith. As we grow in years, we want to grow in how we talk to, listen to, and trust God.
How do we grow in faith? It starts with how we “eat” spiritually – talking about, thinking about, and memorizing the Bible. First, we feed ourselves the “milk” – the basics about life in Christ, who God is, and what he has done for us. Then, just as babies go from drinking milk to eating solid food, we move on from the “milk” to the “meat” = the deeper truths and bigger picture of God. We can do this by “chewing on” and “swallowing” more challenging passages in the Bible and by going deeper in learning about God’s Word.
While our physical bodies stop growing at some point, we never have to stop growing spiritually. We will always have more to learn, new ways to trust God, deeper truths to understand.
Scripture:
You can have a Bible close to the dinner table to use during devotions. The kids can take turns reading the scripture each week out of the Bible!
“Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done” Colossians 2:7
Discussion Questions (pick a couple or all questions and allow for everyone to to answer. There’s no answer key! As parents, we sometimes think we have to have all the answers, but we don’t. It’s ok to sometimes not have all the answers! But God does and it’s good to let our kids know when tough questions arise that some things only God knows, and we can’t always understand, but we can always trust Him )
1. In what ways have you been growing in the past year?
2. What kind of spiritual food helps your faith grow?
3. Looking back, can you pinpoint ways your faith has grown from what it used to be?
4. What is one thing you can do this week to help grow your faith?
Little Bites from Heaven are excerpts taken from Dinner Table Devotions written by Nancy Guthrie

DeSales Bakes for Good
This morning, DeSales students in grades 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 had an opportunity to take part in Bake for Good (Kids). This program was sponsored by King Arthur Flour. With an Instructor Zooming live from King Arthur’s test kitchen, students learned how to make bread.
Baking is an ideal vehicle for STREAM learning. Through these experiences in the kitchen, children learn critical thinking skills, understand more about measurements, they witness chemical reactions, can exercise their creativity and of course problem solve. These experiences all put STREAM in real world contexts.
Students will be bringing home a bag from King Arthur Flour with a recipe book, yeast, a bag of flour, a dough tool and a plastic bag. From these materials, they will be able to make two loaves of bread. One loaf for their family to enjoy and the second loaf will be made for a loved one.
A very special thank you to Ms. Amy Driscoll and King Arthur Flour for spending the morning with us.
