🥶 DRESS FOR THE WEATHER!! 🥶
Please make sure your child leaves your house every morning with a coat. Even though we have a temperature threshold were we keep students in from the cold, there will be times they will go outside. We will leave kids inside if they are not properly dressed.
Thank you for your cooperation!
FUN WITH BORAX
Students in 6th grade Science made Christmas ornaments boiling water and mixing in the detergent Borax. After mixing, they took pipe cleaners, shaped in into the desired style and left them in the mixture overnight.
While 6th Grade Science did this...
...8th Grade Science did this...
8th Grade had a "Virtual Field Trip" to learn how physics, engineering, and technology are applied in real-world scenarios to improve vehicle safety. They received an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the IIHS testing facilities and learned about how crash tests are performed and vehicles are rated for safety. They were able to ask questions answered LIVE by leading experts in automotive safety.
AND ANOTHER THING ABOUT THE 6TH GRADE:
THEY NEED A GREAT "SHOUT OUT":
Mrs. Smith was out today (Friday) and we had Super Sub Mr. Spears coming in. There was a small mixup and Mr. Spears was going to be a little late in the morning. When I went up to the 6th grade classroom to cover until Mr. Spears arrival...
...the students had already checked on the sub notes left by Mrs. Smith; had started working on the assignment, and were almost completed.
It's stories like these that you hear that make you proud to be an educator. A class that could have been "bouncing off the walls", were rather working on the material needed without being directly told to do so.
