A Message From Your Principal
Glenwood Families
Report cards for Trimester 2 were sent home on Friday, March 21. Please make sure to review the report card with your student.
Please remind your student that not completing classwork and/or homework impacts their grade. A simple example is if they turn in a completed
assignment and get a 100 but then don’t do then next assignment and get a 0, then the 100 they just received for their hard work has now gone down to
a 50 average. If your student has comments about not completing classwork and homework, be sure that you have them show you their work nightly vs just telling you they did it. This additional step of accountability can make a big difference in the extra steps to complete their work. We have one trimester left for the 2024 – 2025 school year. help your student finish strong.
If you have friends, family or neighbors who have young students who are eligible for TK or should be starting Kindergarten, please encourage them to contact the school at 805.495.2118 to enroll for the fall. Believe it or not, this is the time of the year when we start planning classes and teachers for the following year and having the most accurate enrollment data early is very important.
Happy Spring

CVUSD's News
Mid-YearReminder:EnsureYourStudent'sEmergencyContactInfoIsCurrent
We’re halfway through the school year, and we encourage our CVUSD parents/guardians to take a moment to review their child’s emergency contact information, including secondary contacts, that are within the Q ParentConnection portal (click "Parent Connection" and login with your user-specific credentials). It is important to identify and have included in your child’s school records a trusted adult guardian who can care for your child during an emergency, or should a situation arise when a parent/guardian is unable to pick up their child from school. Additionally, families can complete a Caregiver’s Authorization Affidavit (English) / Declaración Jurada de Autorización del Cuidador (Español) to give a trusted adult the authority to make educational and medical decisions for their children. A caregiver affidavit is necessary in the event that a parent or guardian is not able to care for their children.

Be on Time 8:30/Sean Puntuales 8:30 AM
We can't always control the cold and flu, but we can control being to school on time. Set your alarms early to arrive before the 8:30 school start time./No siempre podemos controlar el resfriado y la gripe, pero sí podemos controlar llegar a la escuela a tiempo. Ponga su alarma temprano para llegar antes de las 8:30, hora de inicio de clases.
Be On Time!
Our goal is to have 95% positive school attendance and continue to improve each month. This also means getting to school on time and teaching our students to be on time and ready to learn. If you need to report an absence please call the Attendance Line: Families have 3 school days to clear absences or else your child will be considered "truant". Also, if you plan to be out of town for 3 or more days, please let our office know.
