Alternative Methods of Instruction
Student Learning Expectations for Grades 6-8 SY 24-25
General Information
- AMI days will be used as a review of items previously covered during seated instruction and no new material will be introduced.
- For each class that day, a short formative assessment will be required. These are NOT optional and will count as a grade.
- Students may complete work at anytime during the day and do not have to follow their daily schedule.
- Teachers will be working remotely as well and will be checking their email and Rooms and responding to messages at the following times (at a minimum): 8:00 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm & 3:30 pm.
Not completing the assigned task(s) will result in a mandatory tutoring once we return to in-person learning.
Hard copies of the required work was provided in advance to ALL students.
Assignments
6th, 7th, & 8th Grade
- All students were provided hard copies of the required work. This was sent home in November and students should have placed it somewhere safe in the event that an AMI day is used.
- There is NOT an option to complete the work digitally.
- Students will receive a short review assignment for each of their core classes and their current specials (PE, Art, Music) class. Each packet contains the work work for all of these areas but students only need to complete the work for the class they are currently enrolled in.
- No work will be required for the exploratory classes on AMI days.
- Students may complete this work at anytime during the AMI day and will be expected to turn it in on the next day of seated school.
No Packet? It's Ok!
Linked below are the digital copies of each grade level AMI packet.
Students may print and compeplete assignmnts as AMI days are used.
If a printer is not available, students may record answers on a seperate sheet of paper and submit this for credit.
Grading
When utilizing our AMI plan, students will be assessed according to the policies outlined in the CMS Student Handbook. All work will scored and entered as a formative grade.
Not completing the assigned task(s) may result in mandatory tutoring once we return to in-person learning.
