Our new schedule this year makes attendance crucial for students' academic success, and it's extremely important they attend bell to bell. We are seeing a number of students in the building, but not attending their whole classes. We want to remind you that we have multiple codes for attendance:
Arriving to class marked VL (very late)
Leaving early without permission, or asking to leave early for another reason
Missing class entirely
As you look at your student’s attendance in ParentView please ask your student about any attendance codes that may be coming up. If you need help signing up for ParentVue please do not hesitate to call Sheldon High School and we can help set that up for you.
Monthly A/B Schedule
The official 2024/2025 A/B calendar can be found on the Sheldon website under the "News" tab.

Helping Students Succeed
Please help me get a few things to make our Success area a great resource for the kids to use. I have attached an Amazon List with the things needed to make things easier and catch the students attention. I am also attaching this Amazon list, with fidgets for students to use.
Senior Yearbook Info
Senior Ads
Senior Portrait
Dear Seniors, Parents, and Family,
Located on the school's website under the 'students' tab you'll find yearbook information. The first deadline quickly approaching is the 'senior ads' on October 31st. Please share this with grandparents or anyone else who might be interested in celebrating your graduating senior in the yearbook by purchasing and designing an ad. The next important deadline is for the submission of senior portraits: December 1. If we do not receive a submission that meets the criteria stated in the flier, we'll print with the default photograph from Lifetouch. Sometime after that deadline, we will print a proof of the senior portrait section and post it in the front office and in Canvas advisory. Seniors will not have long to notify us of any mistakes in either the photograph or the name, and so seniors need to be paying attention to their advisory teacher and announcements. Once we submit the section to print, it is impossible to make any changes.
You'll also find the process at the website for how to request a name change in the yearbook. Please do so also by the December 1 deadline.
If you have any questions, email Casey Allbritten: allbritten_c@4j.lane.edu

After School Tutoring
After School Tutoring Program started Tuesday, September 24th. We will be meeting after school from 3:45-4:45 every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday we are in school. We will have teachers to help with all the core subjects. All students are welcome as long as they are on task.
Expectations: While you are at the After School Tutoring Program you are expected to be working on a class or classes that you are struggling in. Teachers and tutors are there to help answer any questions and give instruction when needed.
Meals: - All Sheldon students have access to a free sack lunch at the end of the school day in the cafeteria. It is considered a full meal but it is made of things like beef sticks, dips, cheese, chips, crackers, and dried fruit.

Eugene Public LIbrary
4J Student Cards for Eugene Public Library
All Eugene School District 4J students receive their own Eugene Public Library (EPL) card as part of a partnership with Eugene Public Library! Library cards were delivered to all 4J students last year and will be automatically renewed yearly until they graduate or leave the district.
New library cards are being offered to all new students and kindergarteners this year. If your student does not receive a card once your home school has delivered library cards, please contact or visit Eugene Public Library.
Below is information regarding EPL student cards.
Student cards:
Provide immediate access to Eugene Public Library's online resources and the ability to borrow five physical items at a time.
Online resources include ebooks, audiobooks, research information, live homework help by professional tutors, streaming movies including documentaries and instructional videos, music, and more.
Physical items include books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, art and technology tools, games, educational toys, puppets and more.
Will be distributed by each school's library or administration office.
Are free of charge, including for students who live outside the City of Eugene.
Can be upgraded to a standard library card with higher borrowing limits at no charge.
Are automatically issued to all K-12 students enrolled at 4J neighborhood and alternative schools unless they or their parents choose not to participate. Charter schools are not included.
Are automatically renewed each school year for continuing 4J students. New cards will be issued to students joining the district (kindergarteners and new students).
The initial account password is the student’s 4J ID number. We encourage patrons to change their password upon first logging into their account and record it in a safe place. Teachers, 4J librarians, and school secretaries can assist with ID numbers as needed. Please note that Eugene Public Librarians cannot access 4J student ID numbers.
4J students who already have a standard Eugene Public Library card may choose to keep and use both cards or cancel one of their cards.
