Mrs. Courtney Parker, 4th Grade Teacher, was selected by her colleagues, parents, and students to represent the values and leadership of Pleasant View Elementary as the Teacher of the Year for 2022. She is an excellent example of consistency and compassion. She is a leader amongst her peers and seeks to support the needs of the building. Staff shared how much they value her calm presence, listening ear, and willingness to help. She is also student-centered and exemplifies the belief that ALL students can shine. She takes on challenges with grace and confidence and is always willing to give feedback. She is friendly and easy to approach, but will be firm when needed. As one parent stated, Courtney is serious sunshine! Congratulation to Mrs. Courtney Parker! Her hard work and dedication to this community is recognized and appreciated!

Mrs. Ashley Reed, our ERI Intervention Assistant, Noon Duty, and PTA secretary, was recognized today as Pleasant View Elementary's Classified Employee of the Year. Ashley works with all of our students...K-5. Her gentle disposition, kind heart, positive disposition and willingness to reach out to any child is evident in everything she does. Ashley is so wonderful at building relationship with students and meeting students' individual needs. She has a natural way of connecting with students and modifying her instruction in the moment. She is always willing to help out where ever she can, and we are all so appreciative of her ability to be flexible with our ever changing schedules and change in student groupings. Having Ashley's support has definitely contributed to our student's success! We could not be more blessed to have you as part of the team. Congratulations Ashley!

Congratulations to this group of students who had their Pronghorn Pride Ticket drawn this week. These students were caught either modeling a school-wide expectation or showing ownership for their learning. Way to be #PronghornStrong!

PTA Committees - Our Carnival Committee and Teacher Appreciation Committee are starting to plan these fun events. If you would like to be a part of one of these committees, please contact Laura at PleasantViewPTAPres@gmail.com.

Just another friendly reminder: We have recently gone through a large number of water bottles. Please make sure your child has a water bottle with them each day.

(We have very few water bottles available for students who forget. Donations accepted.)

Please be sure to call into the office or email Jenene Hill at hill.jenene@westada.org if your child is out absent.

If your child has an appointment, please be sure to get a verification form from the provider to allow the school to change the coding for attendance. If your child has a standing appointment weekly/monthly, you can get the letter from the provider for the length of time to share with the office to allow for proper coding.

*Per district policy, an unverified absence will convert to truancy unless verbal communication is received from a parent/guardian within 48 hours (counts against attendance standard).

Mrs. Maddox is going into the classrooms this month to teach the listening tool as part of our school wide social emotional learning. Attached you will find more information on the listening tool as well as talking points and questions you could ask your student at home.
