We are so excited about the response to the In ‘N Out Spirit Night! At the time that this newsletter was submitted, we have 150 tickets committed to being sold! We just need 50 more to make sure this event will happen! If you haven’t yet, please fill out THIS FORM to reserve your tickets, and share with family and friends. When we are sure that this will happen, we will email you to let you know, and there will be a link on My School Bucks to pay for your tickets, or we will have the option to pay by credit card, cash or Apple/Google Pay on Friday 9/27 after school and at the event when you pick up your tickets. This is going to be a GREAT fundraiser for our school and hopefully we can make it an annual thing - thank you for all of your support already!

We are looking forward to our first Donuts With Grownups event, coming up on October 4th, at 8am in the cafeteria! Donuts, coffee and juice will be provided, so please come and mingle with other Copper Mesa families for a casual breakfast before school and work. Please fill out THIS FORM so that we know how many donuts to get, and let us know if you prefer allergen friendly options. Hope to see you there!

PTO will be hosting a car painting event in the CME parking lot on October 2nd, from 4:30-6:00pm, in support of the Bond initiative, 5A, going on the ballot. Please join us if you’d like to show your support for 5A on your car windows, and let us know if you’d like to help with the painting - especially if you have nice handwriting! ;)

The planning for our annual Son Event is underway, so mark your calendars for November 2nd, from 2:00-4:00pm! This event will take place at the HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area. There will be a scavenger hunt, scat identification and a group game. If weather is an issue, we will reschedule for the spring. Tickets are $20 for kids, adults are free. We hope to see lots of you there with your wonderful sons!

Our school wide photo will be taken on September 27th, and school shirts will be distributed to the classrooms the night before, so there won’t be a single chance of losing them before the photo. Then the kids can bring them home to have for field trips and Boosterthon later in the year!

At the PTO meeting earlier in the month, we discussed several options for our fundraising dollars from the Boosterthon to go towards. Please take time to share with us your thoughts. To provide CME families an opportunity to have a voice in improvements at school, the PTO researched numerous ideas from parents and staff over the years and presented it in this SLIDE DECK. Calling all classroom parents! Are you helping plan a Halloween party in the classroom? Need something easy? Consider using MyClassroomParty. One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year our total donation received is in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so, it’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school. This money helps us to pay for teacher and school grants and host some of our events.

Got a knack for party planning? Love reaching out to local businesses? Looking to get your hands dirty (We know for a fact there are some interested dads out there!)?

We are always looking for volunteers for Teacher/Staff Appreciation, our Daughter Event, our Son Event, School Beautification, our Spring Fundraiser, etc. If you would like to volunteer with PTO in any way, please let us know.

Watch D.O.G.S. is a program that gives dads the opportunity to spend either a half or whole day in the building with their children. You will help in classrooms and go to lunch and recess with your child.

The purpose of the program:

1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is essential.
2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. All dads are encouraged to be a Watch D.O.G.S. Dad at least once a year.
