"Stay in the Loop" 2024-2025 12th Edition
Principal Letter
As Catholic Schools Week comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the moments that have made this week so special. From the joy and energy of our celebrations, to the meaningful ways we’ve come together as a community, it has been an incredible reminder of why Catholic education is so important.
Catholic Schools Week is more than just a celebration—it’s an opportunity to recognize the gift of faith-based education and the values that set our school apart. At St. Pius X, we are blessed with a dedicated and caring faculty and staff, involved and supportive parents, and students who inspire us every day. It is this strong partnership that makes SPX such a special place, and I feel fortunate to share in all the wonderful things happening here.
While this week has been filled with many reasons to celebrate, it has also been a powerful reminder of what it means to be a family. After the heartbreaking loss of Mrs. Nkwenya, Prince Declan’s mother, our SPX community immediately wrapped its arms around this family. Within days of sharing the news, our families filled the Meal Train and raised over $5,000 to help with burial expenses. This overwhelming outpouring of love and generosity speaks to the very heart of who we are at SPX—faithful, compassionate, and united in Christ.
In times of joy and sorrow, we stand together. That is what makes our school more than just a place of learning—it is a true family. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of such an extraordinary and caring community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your principal.
Sincerely,
Lisa Ruth

Catholic Schools Week
Ugandan Speaker
On Monday, we kicked off CSW with an inspiring and energetic presentation from our special guest, a Ugandan speaker who encouraged us to let our lights shine! He not only shared powerful words, but also gave us a glimpse into Ugandan culture through traditional dance and language. Our students and staff enjoyed learning a few words in his native language and moving to the rhythms of his homeland.
✨ Be sure to check out the video below for highlights from this incredible presentation! ✨
Hearts for the Military
On Tuesday, our students created hearts to show our support and appreciation for the military.
Presentation from The Works
On Wednesday, our students were absolutely ec-static as they explored the wonders of electricity, thanks to an electrifying presentation from The Works! Through the generosity of our Home & School Association, students had a shocking good time discovering the power of static electricity and circuits—it was definitely a hair-raising experience! A special thanks to Mrs. Farrell for organizing this special day!
Vocations
On Thursday, students had the opportunity to hear the vocation stories from three of our diocesan seminarians.
8th Grade vs. Staff Volleyball Game
It's not a Catholic Schools Week without our traditional 8th Grade vs. Staff Volleyball Game! This year, the STAFF won, but everyone had a great time!

While the older students enjoyed the volleyball game, our younger students were excited to play BINGO for prizes!
Annual CSW Door Decorating Contest
We are so thankful for all of the teachers, aides, and students who worked hard to create adorable CSW doors, and we are thankful to Fr. Patrick, Fr. Gotfried, and Seb, our new youth minister, for assisting with the judging! Congratulations to this year's winners: Mrs. Angle and Mrs. Meyer's 6th Grade classes.
