NEWS & NOTES FROM ESTABROOK SCHOOL | JANUARY 7, 2018
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Happy New Year! I hope you and your families have been safe in this extremely cold weather. We are looking forward to a warm-up in temperatures this week.
It has been a pleasure to welcome students back to school. They have been excited to see their teachers and friends, and settled in smoothly.
Please join me in congratulating Mr. LaBroad on his principal appointment for the Haynes Elementary School in Sudbury! We are so proud of his accomplishment and thankful for his continued contributions! Mr. LaBroad begins his new role on July 1, 2018.
January is an exciting time for student development. Students are integrating more academic concepts and skills, and building upon friendships from the first half of the year.
As a reminder, report cards will be available February 9, however parent/teacher conferences will be held in March/April during mid-semester. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Winter is indeed beautiful, but it can be a challenge for students to go outside and play. In this newsletter, we've listed a few resources that might be helpful in stimulating curiosity and movement when it's too frigid to sustain long periods of outdoor play.
Students are reminded to come to school with outdoor winter gear. By district policy, if the weather is 19 degrees or greater, including wind chill, then we will go outside for recess.
We look forward to seeing you at Estabrook School!
Warmest wishes,
Principal Trach
